The intent was to have a safe place for malnourished children to receive adequate care until they were strong enough to go home. The Convalescent Home, now known as Sunbeam Place, was set up to house children from as young as six months old.

Over the years, the Singapore Children’s Society has contributed significantly to the national ecosystem of caring for children in need. -

Nearly 75% of Microsoft’s Scope 3 emissions come from purchased goods and services (things like raw materials, office supplies) and capital goods (these include buildings, vehicles). This is an important reminder that our suppliers play a pivotal role in helping us reach our goal of carbon negative by 2030. In May, we hosted a Global Supplier Sustainability Summit, bringing together suppliers from around the world to share best practices and learn from each other. This event was a great opportunity for us to strengthen collaboration and accelerate progress. As I told them at the meeting, the consequences of doing nothing, or doing too little too late, are unforgiving. That’s why we’re supporting, through our Climate Innovation Fund, the development and deployment of carbon reduction and removal technologies that can help us—and our partners—achieve ambitious sustainability goals. We're also working to improve the accuracy and accountability of our emissions reporting. Today, 70% of Microsoft's product carbon footprints are calculated using primary data provided directly by suppliers, well above the industry average of 20%. This enables our sustainability teams at Microsoft to spend less time on manual data processing and more time identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and clean energy access across our supply chain. We're making progress, but we know there's still more work to be done. This new program directly addresses this challenge by creating a structured 6-12 month pathway for aspiring cloud professionals with a strong focus on GenAI capabilities.
