PUBLICATION EASAC Commentary: Urgent Call for Transformative ChangeIAP’s European regional network, the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC), issued its commentary, Increasing Urgency for Transformative Change in March 2025. The publication underscores a stark reality: while the scale of global crises continues to intensify, political momentum for the necessary transformative change remains insufficient. Key barriers include legal constraints, entrenched corporate interests, and shifting political priorities. Misinformation and greenwashing further delay effective action, while outdated economic models and persistent fossil fuel subsidies hinder progress. EASAC’s commentary also evaluates current EU policy responses and explores policy pathways that could drive transformative change across Europe. Read and download it here. |
