Hear VoiceOver hints and information about items on Mac
VoiceOver provides several ways to learn more about the item in the VoiceOver cursor.
Note: VO represents the VoiceOver modifier. See Use the VoiceOver modifier.
- Hear a description of the item: Press VO-F3. If the Trackpad Commander is on, tap the trackpad three times. A sound effect indicates that the cursor is in a blank area.
- Hear the item’s help tag: Press VO-Shift-H. VoiceOver tells you if an item doesn’t have a help tag (sometimes called a “tooltip”).
- Hear how to use the item: Press VO-Shift-N.
- Hear more content (when available) about the item: Press VO-Command-/.
To have help tags and instructions read automatically, open VoiceOver Utility (press VO-F8 when VoiceOver is on), click the Verbosity category, then click Hints.
        Thanks for your feedback.
