A Georgetown Law Digital Inclusion Week Event
Join us for a special Digital Inclusion Week event featuring Dr. Nicol Turner Lee, Director of the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution and author of Digitally Invisible: How the Internet is Creating the New Underclass. In her book, Dr. Turner Lee illustrates how millions of Americans remain excluded from the digital economy, sharing powerful stories of those left behind and the structural barriers driving inequities.

In this conversation, she will expand on her research with a forward-looking discussion of today’s digital equity challenges—from broadband access and affordability to algorithmic bias and online opportunity—and offer insights on what policymakers, advocates, and communities can do to ensure no one is left offline.

Hosted by: Georgetown Institute for Technology Law & Policy; Georgetown Law Center on Privacy & Technology; Tech & Society; Benton Institute for Broadband & Society; and Public Knowledge.

October 10, 2025, 10:30-11:30am at Georgetown Law, 500 1st Street, NW Washington DC. 6th Floor Lounge
