Gen Z has found itself at the center of many conversations because they question the status quo. In every room they enter, they ask why things are the way they are. Why five working days? Why fixed paths? Why not better balance and fuller experiences? Their curiosity and courage to challenge norms is shaping the future of work and leadership. And as many Gen Zs start their careers, the need for guidance, clarity, and strong foundations has never been greater. That’s what our Career Building Blocks Program is designed to offer; early career essentials that help emerging professionals navigate work, purpose, and growth with confidence. 8th & 15th November Join us and start building your path intentionally. #BeIGNITED

The job market has changed, and so has how we show up in it. Today, before you even walk into a room, people have already met you online. They’ve formed a perception about you from your work, ideas you’ve shared and the way you’ve expressed yourself. That’s why building your professional presence matters. It’s how leaders tell their story, build trust, and create opportunities long before a formal introduction. This week, our emerging leaders explored how to shape a unique and authentic online presence that reflects who they are and the impact they want to make. #BeIGNITED

In every industry today, the leaders who stand out are the ones learning to work *with* AI, not around it. This past Saturday’s Fanisi session focused on how Artificial Intelligence can help leaders think smarter, decide faster, and remove the hurdles that slow teams down. From analyzing data to improving communication and planning, AI is becoming a partner in effective leadership helping turn ideas into action with greater clarity and speed. #BeIGNITED

One of the biggest challenges leaders face after climbing into management is letting go. Delegating feels risky; what if it’s done wrong, what if it reflects poorly on me, what if the team lets me down? But holding on too tightly comes at a cost. It limits growth, creates resentment, and keeps you stuck in the weeds instead of leading with vision. Delegation isn’t about losing control. It’s about creating clarity, providing resources, practicing patience, and allowing room for failure because failure is where growth begins. #BeIGNITED

When you think about the leaders who’ve inspired you most, chances are it wasn’t just what they said, but how they said it. Communication; whether on a stage or face to face shapes how trust is built, how ideas are received, and how people feel seen. That’s why at Fanisi, we create space for emerging leaders to practice and grow in this skill. The more confident we become in how we share our voice, the more impact we can have together. #BeIGNITED -

We’ve all been there, someone gives us feedback and we take it personally. It feels like an attack on our abilities when in reality it’s about how the work can get better. Listen to Irene describe the process she went through to embrace feedback as a tool for improving her work and relationships. How have you grown in receiving feedback?

Giving and receiving feedback is one of the hardest leadership skills to master. If delivered in the heat of the moment, the message can get lost. Effective feedback doesn't have to be a quick reaction, rather one that's delivered under the right conditions. Make space between the incident and the conversation, focus on growth rather than the momentary frustration. Approach the conversation with an intent to build trust instead of just correcting mistakes. Feedback is about helping people grow and that takes patience, intention, and care.

Excellence is doing your job to a high standard so that you become trusted with bigger responsibilities. Each time you push through difficult tasks, you gain confidence and expand your capabilities. What starts as effort slowly becomes part of who you are, and you begin to stand out. At Fanisi, we help leaders embrace excellence until it becomes second nature.

Thank you Albert Nyagetera for the incredible session. I had the privilege of facilitating a personal finance training session with the incredible Fanisi Program Cohort 13. What an energizing experience to engage with a group so dedicated, curious, and passionate about taking charge of their financial journeys. We explored personal finance not just through numbers, but through stories- challenging cultural narratives, debunking money myths, and addressing real-life pain points many silently carry. Some key reflections from our Session: 1. Your decisions define your destiny. Regardless of where you come from, you have the power and responsibility to shape your financial future. Every choice you make today can impact the rest of your life. 2. Build with intention and perseverance. Lasting success isn’t built overnight: it requires deep commitment and self-motivation, especially in seasons where no one is clapping. 3. The power of community. Wealth-building is not a solo mission. It is important to surround yourself with people who challenge, inspire, and fuel your growth. A strong community with shared goals makes the journey lighter and more impactful. My deepest appreciation to Sarah Majengo and the Fanisi team for trusting me with this opportunity and for the incredible work you’re doing to empower and equip the next generation of leaders. It is truly an honor to be part of this journey, and I’m deeply grateful for the chance to pour into this amazing community. To everyone on their personal finance journey: keep going. Your future self will thank you. #FinancialLiteracy #PersonalFinance #FANISI #WealthBuilding #CommunityMatters #MoneyMindset #LeadershipDevelopment #PurposeDriven

Fanisi Program reposted this We make a lot of assumptions about people’s capabilities when they enter the corporate world. Mentorship is a way of ensuring career growth and personal development of new/junior employees. Many of us navigated our careers without the benefit of official mentorship relationships but the mentor has many faces: from an onboarding line manager, a friendly supervisor, a senior colleague, seasoned industry specialist or structured mentorship programs. Over 20 years ago, in my first job, a Director at the company took the time to teach me how to build a marketing budget; from formatting an Excel spreadsheet to performing basic calculations. Back then, before the digital tools we take for granted today, Excel was intimidating. I remember that generous, teaching moment which taught me the mechanics of budgeting and the value of doing hard things. Other formative lessons came through red-inked documents, tough feedback that, over time, helped me build resilience and a commitment to excellence in analysis and report writing. But the most pivotal moment in my career came when a leader saw potential in me and offered a promotion into a role I had no formal training or experience in. That vote of confidence became a foundation I drew on throughout my career, especially during the moments when my own self-belief was shaky. Mentoring can help advance junior employees’ careers, improve company retention and boost corporate morale. Harvard Business Review argues that 75% of executives credit their success to their mentors. There is a direct correlation between effective guidance and long-term success. Today, these principles of guidance and support are some of the core elements of the Fanisi Program. Through an incredible team of dedicated coaches and practical training courses, young professionals are attaining success through promotions, further studies and even landing roles outside Tanzania with global institutions. The program’s focus extends beyond career advancement and includes self-discovery that empowers professionals to design fulfilling lives. Building on these achievements, I am excited about the latest Intake of emerging leaders who have begun their growth journey. We remain committed to igniting potential, nurturing leadership, and supporting solutions that contribute to both community and national development. Mentorship can take many forms. How is it shaping your career journey?
