Dr. Margaretha Sariko and Happy Olemoti attended a workshop on the development and coordination of mechanisms for integrated surveillance of endemic and emerging foodborne pathogens, held from October 15–17, 2025, at Mount Meru, Arusha. The workshop, organized by the #PrimeMinisterOffice (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination) in collaboration with the FAO, aimed to develop procedures for integrated surveillance of foodborne pathogens that pose significant health risks. These efforts will strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders in food safety monitoring, reporting, and rapid response to outbreaks caused by hazardous foodborne pathogens #FoodSafety #PublicHealth #OneHealth #FoodbornePathogens #IntegratedSurveillance #FAO #KCRI #HealthSecurity #RapidResponse #HealthWorkshops Wizara ya Afya Tanzania Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC) Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College

This study underscores the urgent need for targeted interventions to address gaps in knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to breast cancer among healthcare providers (HCPs) and traditional healers (THs) in Tanzania. Strengthening clinical training, developing supportive policies, enhancing public awareness through accurate information, and promoting research on cultural and systemic barriers are vital to improving early diagnosis, timely referrals, and patient outcomes. A collaborative approach that integrates traditional and biomedical health systems can help build a more effective and inclusive cancer care framework in Tanzania. Each year, during the first week of October, institutions worldwide celebrate Customer Service Week to recognize, appreciate, and strengthen the quality of service offered to clients and partners. This year, the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI) joined hands with Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC) and other institutions to mark the occasion by sharing breakfast and lunch with patients, their relatives, students, and staff on October 10, 2025. The celebration was led by Professor Ireen Kiwelu, who emphasized KCRI’s dedication to prioritizing clients and promoting community well-being. “As an institute, KCRI gives priority to all our clients and will continue to participate in this important initiative for the well-being of our community.” Dr. Sarah Urasa, Acting Executive Director of KCMC, expressed heartfelt appreciation to KCRI for its strong support and collaboration in making this year’s Customer Service Week a success. Together, we continue to serve with compassion, excellence, and commitment to improving lives. #CustomerServiceWeek #KCRI #KCMC #ServiceExcellence #CommunityCare #ResearchForImpact #TeamGSF #HealthcareExcellence Wizara ya Afya Tanzania Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) Global Health EDCTP3 Science for Africa Foundation National Cancer Institute (NCI)
