Our Chief Aviation Officer, Louisa Smith, had a busy time at DroneX Tradeshow & Conference last week where she moderated a panel discussing how the UK gets to integrated airspace with Wing’s Matthew Satterley, ANRA Technologies’ Amit Ganjoo, and the Civil Aviation Authority’s Stuart Lindsey MBA, FRAeS, CMgr FCMI. Big thanks to Emmie Derbäck and Wing for putting this on! The main takeaways: 🚀 The industry has moved beyond trials - progress now depends on live operational data. 💡 Drone operations in integrated airspace are already working successfully worldwide; the UK should build on that proven model, not redesign the wheel. 🏥 The sooner we put this framework in place, the sooner our NHS and its patients will benefit. Louisa also joined up with Tom Rehwinkel from Matternet to chat to Russell Porter for NATS’s Altitude series about our new partnership in London, Matternet’s experience in medical and home delivery, their entry to the UK, and the expansion of the NHS drone delivery network. It’s great to be working with Tom and the team and we’re looking forward to flying with them very soon! #NHS #healthcare #innovation #healthtech #logistics #supplychain #London

Apian reposted this A big thank you to RotorHub International for their recent article about medical drone delivery, highlighting the progress being made in the sector, including by some of our excellent partners. Our service with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has now delivered over 6,000 patient samples - each urgent delivery is around 28% cheaper and produces up to 99% fewer CO2 emissions than existing ground couriers. By providing resilient, on-demand logistics capabilities, drone delivery is accelerating testing turnaround times for critical pathology samples, optimising healthcare productivity. We’re busily scoping the next phase with existing and new partners like Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust, expanding London’s drone delivery network and deploying ground robots to automate the ‘clinical metre’ of healthcare logistics within hospitals. With the Civil Aviation Authority and Department for Science, Innovation and Technology's Regulatory Innovation Office clearing the regulatory hurdles, and drone operators ready to expand, we’re pushing ahead to meet the growing NHS demand for autonomous logistics. #NHS #healthcare #innovation #healthtech #logistics #supplychain #aviation #drones #robotics

Apian reposted this This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Apian to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a demonstration of their innovative healthcare technology. From aerial drones designed to transport medicines and samples between sites, to walking robots that can deliver items within the hospital, it was a fascinating insight into how this kind of tech can support smarter, faster and more efficient care. Apian reposted this Our Medical Director, Dr Paul Cane, is at the #ADLM2025 conference in Chicago, Illinois (July 27 to 31) this week, to present a collaboration between Synnovis, Apian and partner organisations that delivers pathology samples using drones. We're thrilled to share that Poster A191, titled “Evaluating the Impact of Drone Delivery on Blood Sample Quality: A Multi-faceted Validation Approach”, was selected for the Innovation and Technology Division Abstract Award, chosen from over 880 submissions! The study rigorously validated drone transport as a safe, temperature-stable and significantly faster alternative to traditional ground courier, with a 94 percent reduction in transport time between hospitals. Congratulations to Paul and all co-authors, including Dr Hammad Jeilani (Apian), Dr James Milne (Newcastle University), Benedict Phillips (Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust), and our Chief Scientific Officer Prof. Dominic Harrington, for their contribution to this project. This collaboration is a powerful example of what is possible when clinical innovation meets operational need. #ADLM2025 #Synnovis #DroneDelivery #Apian #Innovation

Apian reposted this CNN came to the UK to run a piece on how Apian has delivered the world's first drone healthcare delivery system over a major world city. And this week Apian announced how it will expand right across London's hospitals. Transforming the way care is delivered to 9 million people. You can hear from doctor-turned-entrepreneur and impossibly charming Hammad Jeilani! Backed out of university by Creator Fund. Bringing a journey of 30-plus-minutes down to just two minutes, a pilot program by health care logistics company Apian – in partnership with England's NHS and drone delivery company Wing – is pioneering a new way of delivering time-sensitive blood samples from London hospitals to labs.

Apian reposted this Urgent blood samples are being transported across London – using drones! Transporting samples for high-risk patients between Hospitals in Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust can take more than 30 minutes by road. Now, using high-tech drones, this can be done in as quickly as two minutes. The partnership between Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Apian and Wing has helped clinicians achieve quicker test results, enabling them to provide the best possible care - and get patients home sooner. This is just one powerful example of how digital innovation in healthcare is directly improving outcomes for patients. Find out how the 10 Year Health Plan is making an NHS that is fit for the future. https://lnkd.in/eR2id69U 📸: Apian & Wing

Reform or… fly? 🚀 The NHS 10 year health plan isn't just about fixing what's broken - it's about reimagining healthcare from the ground up. Our key takeaway? Effective healthcare logistics is vital to underpin the ambitious transformation as essential infrastructure. Because here's the reality - you can't deliver neighbourhood healthcare without neighbourhood logistics. You can't shift to prevention without getting screening kits and medications to the right people at the right time. You can't digitise care pathways while still relying on 20th century supply chains. That's why we're excited to see Apian’s drones and robots featured on pages 111 and 128. Not as a technology vendor, but as a transformation partner. Our drones and robots aren't just moving pathology samples and medicines - they're moving the NHS closer to its 2035 vision. Freeing up clinical time. Reaching underserved communities. Making care more responsive, more efficient, more human. https://lnkd.in/eR2id69U #NHS #NHS10YearPlan #HealthcareTransformation #Innovation #Logistics #Drones #Robotics #Partnership

Last week, we welcomed Mike Miller-Smith MBE FRAeS and Harvey Matthewson from Aerobility to our drone operations hub at Guy’s Hospital. Aerobility’s mission to make aviation accessible to all is genuinely inspiring, and aligns closely with our own belief that innovation should break down barriers, not reinforce them. It was a privilege to share how drones are transforming NHS logistics - enabling faster diagnostics, reducing emissions, and improving patient outcomes. Thank you to the Aerobility team for your visit, your insights, and your leadership in championing accessibility in aviation. As autonomous systems become more embedded in everyday life, inclusion must be at the heart of how we design and deploy them. We’re excited to collaborate further to make uncrewed aviation more inclusive for all. #inclusion #diversity #aviation #drones
