  • The value of contract awards has dipped by 10% in October to £7.29bn. Despite the dip this month, overall contract awards remain strong despite continued uncertainty in the economic environment. There are enough approvals in the pipeline to give some confidence in the short term, but the lack of recent applications could mean uncertainty in the longer term. Despite the Government’s focus on planning reform to kick-start housebuilding, major developers continue to see viability as an issue with additional costs such as biodiversity net gain and other regulatory pressures. Our Monthly Snapshot gives you the complete view of construction, covering planning applications, planning approvals and contract awards. • The UK ventilation market is dominated by three main players – the Volution Group plc, the Genuit Group and the Zehnder Group UK, which together represent around 50% of the market. Our latest report, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Market Report – UK 2025‑2029, explores how the sector is evolving. Air‑conditioning systems now account for just over half of market value, while ventilation and accessories make up the rest. Growth out to 2029 is expected to be driven by tighter building regulations, increased focus on indoor air quality, and the transition to low‑carbon systems. The non‑residential sector remains the primary driver of demand, with healthcare, education, offices, and data centres leading the way. For manufacturers, distributors, and specifiers alike, understanding these trends and the market landscape will be crucial for planning and strategy. The full report offers a detailed look at market size, forecasts, and company activity across the UK – providing clarity on where opportunities are emerging and how the market is shifting. • November marks Men's Mental Health Month, and we thought it was only right to take this time to appreciate our male colleagues. A couple of weeks ago, we asked everyone to describe each of our male colleagues in one word. We then gathered those words and wrote each man in our business a card, listing all the words their colleagues used to describe them. A small reminder of the positive impact they have on those around them💙
