First Look: Resolving Conflict in Schools – Peer Mediation as a Foundation for Happier, Healthier Futures We’re excited to share an early preview of the cover for the CMC National Evaluation of Peer Mediation, Resolving Conflict in Schools: Peer Mediation as a Foundation for Happier, Healthier Futures. On 13th November, our new CEO Victoria Harris will officially launch this important new report, exploring the impact and outcomes of peer mediation nationwide. "As I step into this role, my vision is for CMC to lead a mediation-first culture in how we resolve disputes — one that promotes a better understanding of mediation and empowers mediators. Working with the next generation is a natural place to spark the culture change we want to see, and it was a joy to see evidence emerge from the new research confirming the benefits of peer mediation that many of us have long observed." said Victoria Harris, CEO, of the Civil Mediation Council. This report was made possible thanks to the contributions of over 300 pupils from 29 schools, who shared their experiences of learning about mediation and putting those skills into practice. We’re also especially grateful to the six peer mediation training providers, including BEHAVIOUR MATTERS LTD, CRESST Conflict Resolution Education, Mediation Hertfordshire, Peacemakers, The Resolution Centre and WMS who worked with the schools to gather data and insights. We are honoured that Lead Judge for ADR for the Judiciary, Lady Justice Sarah Asplin DBE, provided a foreword for the report and we are also deeply grateful to The TCM Group | Putting People First™️ for sponsoring the cost of publishing the report. Join us at the CMC Conference for the official launch of the report, and discover how CMC will use these findings to grow the peer mediation sector and influence policy makers. To receive a digital copy of the report after 12th November, please contact the CMC Secretariat: [email protected]. We are grateful to the support of Analisa Plehn, Ellis Brooks, Ben Harper, Michele Wheeler, Sara Hagel, Libbs Packer, Rob Unwin, Lisa Owen, Leanne Guillen, Lynne Hughes-Williams, Richard Stevens, Polly Walker, Laurel Farrington, Sarah Beckett, Felicity Steadman, David Walker MBE, and David Liddle. #PeerMediation #ConflictResolution #Mediation #Education #ResearchLaunch
