Agentic AI is no longer a futuristic concept, but a real-world technology that is delivering value for many firms. This was clear in our recent panel discussion at Sibos, which featured experts from CIBC Mellon, Nedbank, AWS and Capgemini. The conversation covered key facets of AI adoption. Here are some of the main takeaways: - Governance and guardrails are vital. In some ways this issue isn’t new. Yes, agents can take action themselves: but so can your team members… - Think about process orchestration and how agents and people will interact. Solving narrow use cases without this foresight will lead to problems. - The agentic evolution is happening across the board. Some organisations are starting in the front office and moving down through Operations. Others have found use cases in Operations and then moved up into the front office. - Consider how agentic AI fits into your process landscape as a whole. Deploying agents in isolation will cause problems later. - AI's value is not all about cost saving. It’s also about providing resilience, scale, control and enhancing the employee experience. Thank you Richard Anton, Nkateko Mabunda (he/him), Ruben Falk and Kieran Mullaley for sharing your insights.
