Gen Z are an interesting bunch… They’re interesting for many reasons 😅 but for us, the way they demand so as consumers is particularly interesting. Specifically in mobility, they’re not dazzled with a flashy whip; they want digital-first, sustainable, and flexible solutions - we’re talking car sharing, EVs, MaaS platforms, micromobility, and MORE. In fact, according to Asset Finance Connect, 50% of Gen Z plan to go electric with their next car purchase, and 63% believe EVs will eventually replace petrol and diesel altogether. What that means for insurers and total loss vehicle management is that we can’t afford to offer the ‘same old, same old.’ 🙃 If tomorrow’s drivers are choosing EVs, embracing shared ownership, and expecting data-driven digital experiences, then claims handling and total loss processes need to evolve to meet these needs. This could present itself in a number of ways. Tech-enabled valuations are a surefire way. We’ll all need to do some work on customer journeys that can match the speed and transparency expected by younger customers, too. And, of course, there’s lots to do in terms of strengthening supply chains for recycled and reusable parts. What do you think? Would love to hear from our network on this. #motorindustry #automotive #totalloss

Maybe it’ll buff out… 👀 No, in all seriousness, how this could go unnoticed is beyond us. Seeing posts like this from Greg Lowe really highlights why total loss management matters so much. A vehicle suffering serious structural damage without a Category S designation is nothing but a big risk for insurers, body shops, and future owners. For insurers and body shops, this highlights just how important thorough inspections are. Not forgetting accurate reporting or clear communication! Every incident MUST be properly documented. It protects all parties involved. Even when claims aren’t made, the impact of damage can ripple far beyond the initial accident. #totalloss #motorindustry #claims
I find it deeply concerning that a car can sustain such severe damage without an insurance claim being made, and therefore not be recorded as a Category S. This means that at some point, an unsuspecting buyer could purchase the vehicle without any knowledge of the serious structural damage it has suffered. I am also dismayed by the initial asking price!

The story of one man dismantling a sports car in his back garden to a 40-acre operation that’s leading the way in greener parts, helping us here at e2e. We’re, of course, talking about our member SCB! They have such an amazing story that we had to sit down with them for a Q&A. Do you want the bad news or the good news first…? 👍 The good news - FOS complaints are down (yay!). 👎 The bad news - motor insurance is still topping the complaints table, with over 40% of cases being upheld (via Insurance Business UK.) To us, this isn’t really surprising… There are around 550,000 total loss cases every year in the UK. These often involve financial loss, inconvenience, and emotional distress. And, when emotions are already running high, even a small setback - whether it’s a slow valuation, a missed communication, or something else - can quickly escalate into a stressful and difficult situation for a policyholder. Which is why we believe there’s huge value in fixing the process before the problem. In our experience, we’ve found that by getting the valuation right, keeping people in the loop, and aiming to wrap things up as quickly as possible, you can go a long way in reducing complaints and protecting customer trust. https://lnkd.in/ecQwkepw #insuranceindustry #motorinsurance #automotive
