Urgency is contagious. It starts quietly — a leader moves faster, speaks sharper, shortens meetings to “just get through the day.” Soon, the whole team is sprinting without knowing why. In our latest episode of The New Terrain, we talked about how reactivity spreads through teams like static in the air. Decisions become narrower, collaboration gets tactical, and creativity starts to disappear. One of the simplest ways to interrupt the cycle is to raise awareness in how you show up. ✨ Pause before react. ✨ Take one breath before you speak. ✨ Build margin into your calendar — not as a luxury, but as a strategy. When leaders slow down, their teams settle. And that makes the difference between chaos and clarity. 🎧 Listen to the full convo with Anique Coffee and Alison Campbell — Reactivity: Awareness as a Leadership Strategy https://lnkd.in/gur3d2CX --- Hi, I’m Leah. At Gather + Grow, we help leaders build resilient, future-ready organizations that thrive through change.

Back in April, I took myself off to my first CreativeMornings/London gathering in Spitalfields. My amazingly clever friend Shona Beats was the keynote that day, speaking about leadership, wisdom, and other meaningful things. What was already a brilliant event was made even better by my being introduced to Anique Coffee and her work to support business growth and culture at Gather + Grow. This led to a later conversation with Anique and her co-founder Leah Zalinski to better understand each other's work and find ways for us to collaborate. The result of this exploration is a new series of filmed 'fireside chat' style conversations between the three of us, and today we officially launch The New Terrain! Bringing this series to life was such a joy. We each brought our unique areas of focus to discuss how leadership must evolve in a rapidly changing world. Anique has deep expertise in leadership and culture, Leah understands systems, processes and how they feed into generational dynamics and team development in ways I never could. And of course my focus is on purpose-driven transformation and storytelling to propel impact and growth. Our 3-part series explores the trends shaping the future of work, the challenges businesses face, and how to unlock resilience and impact in uncertain times. Today, I'm sharing our 10-minute teaser episode, where we talk about why we've come together for these conversations, and why now matters more important than ever before. It’s International Stress Awareness Week, and I can’t think of a better time to talk about what it really means to stay steady when everything around us feels urgent. Introducing The New Terrain: a 3-Episode Series and collaboration between unBurnt and Gather + Grow all about leading with energy, empathy and awareness. These are short, real conversations about what it takes to lead with clarity and calm in the middle of constant noise. Here’s what’s coming: - Episode 1: Breaking the Cycle of Reactivity: How leaders can spot and step out of the autopilot of urgency. - Episode 2: The Burnout Trap: Why survival mode works short-term, but eventually breaks the system. - Episode 3: Building Resilient Teams: Practical ways to reset, recharge, and make resilience part of everyday work. Over the next three weeks, I’ll be sharing each episode. These are quick hits designed to spark reflection and action. Because leadership isn't about having all the answers... it's about building connection, trust, and the capacity to rebound even in the face of uncertainty (hello 2025). It was such a blast filming these with Leah Zalinski and Anique Coffee! A huge thank you to you both for envisioning this series and for all the wisdom you shared. It was an honor to join you. If you’re a leader feeling like you’re running on fumes but can’t slow down, this series is for you. Stay tuned for Episode 1 later this week 🙌 ---- Hi, I'm Alison, the founder of unBurnt and we're on a mission to create more workplaces where thriving is the norm.

New Month - New episodes over on the New Terrain! This time, Anique Coffee and I welcome Alison Campbell, founder of unBurnt to chat about how high performing leaders and teams can avoid the dreaded BURNOUT! In Episode 1 of this series, we talk about Reactivity! When reactivity becomes the default, the whole team feels it. Urgency replaces clarity. We start firefighting instead of leading. We explore: 🧨 Why the sense of urgency spreads so quickly within teams 🧨 How stress narrows awareness and weakens decision-making 🧨 The signals that show that tension has taken its toll 🧨 Simple ways to move from chaos to clarity This conversation isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning to locate ourselves and lead with intention. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gur3d2CX --- Hi, I’m Leah. At Gather + Grow we help leaders build resilient, future-ready organizations that thrive through change.

Partnering with visionary leaders and their teams 🧭 to navigate growth 🏔️ with confidence 🗺️

At Gather + Grow, clarity isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about seeing what’s possible and true—together. One of our clients recently shared that the time we spent together during their Growth Map felt like “a breath of fresh air—focused, intentional time to pause and look at what matters most.” First of all, what a gorgeous compliment - thank you. And secondly, that IS what clarity feels like. Not rushed. Not forced. Just the relief of knowing where you stand, what matters most, and what comes next. Clarity shows up when leaders can name what’s working and what’s not. When priorities are visible—not hidden. When roles, decisions, and expectations are defined—not assumed. Our Growth Map gives you focus and begins to creates the conditions for what’s really important to emerge—through deep listening, brave conversations, and alignment that sticks. Because clarity isn’t a final state. It’s a leadership practice—one that brings focus, calm, and direction back into your growth. If your team could use a breath of fresh air and a shared map for what’s next, explore The Growth Map—our guided clarity journey for leadership teams. https://lnkd.in/eRn5DkuE PS - peep the Moana Spotify bar at the top. Tell me you have a toddler without telling me you have a toddler. Can’t stop singing “how far I’ll go” and kinda feels like anthem for the Growth Map to be honest.

We all have both masculine and feminine energy. The masculine builds direction, structure, and drive. The feminine brings connection, awareness, and intuition. Both matter. But for too long, business has favored one — speed over contemplation, control over collaboration. That imbalance is showing its cracks. The next chapter of leadership will belong to those who can lead with balanced energy — those who can pause, listen, and act from alignment rather than fear. It’s not about less ambition. It’s about a different kind of power — one rooted in integrity and experimentation. 🔥 Watch my full conversation with Anique Coffee and Rebekah Clark FRSA→ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gVFAa5tn #FeminineLeadership #LeadershipEvolution #PurposeDrivenBusiness #FutureOfWork P.S. Hi, I’m Leah. At Gather + Grow, we use the Growth Map to help leaders build systems that balance structure and intuition — so growth feels steady, not forced.

  • As October comes to an end, the pace begins to quicken. The year is drawing close, and the pressure to finish strong starts to build. In moments like these, alignment matters most. Because when teams move with clarity and shared purpose, progress feels steady — even in the rush. Tomorrow’s Lookout: Aligned Action is a space to pause before November begins. A 45-minute reflection space for leaders to reset their focus, reconnect with what truly matters, and bring their teams into rhythm before the next wave of work. If your calendar feels full and your energy stretched, this might be the most worthwhile hour you spend all week. 🌿 Find the link to RSVP in the comments.

  • When things feel scattered, our instinct is often to move faster. To fill the calendar, add another meeting, and call it progress. But leadership asks for something different — a pause before the push. When we work with leaders, we often begin with three simple questions: • Where are we going? • Why does it matter? • How will we get there, together? It sounds simple, but these questions have a way of cutting through the noise. They bring people back into rhythm — into focus, purpose, and shared direction. That’s exactly what we’ll explore in this month’s Lookout: Aligned Action. A 45-minute reflective space for leaders who want to find clarity before November begins. Because busyness burns energy. Alignment creates momentum. 🌿 You can join this month’s Lookout through the link in the comments.

  • When a flock of geese crosses the sky, they move as one. Each bird takes a turn at the front, easing the path for the rest. That’s what aligned leadership feels like — shared rhythm, mutual trust, and effortless progress. In this month’s Lookout, we’ll explore how leaders and teams can return to that rhythm, where clarity replaces chaos and purpose becomes shared. When asked at a recent session what they were leaving with, one leader, Stacey Wolcott, said: “Clarity. I loved this. This notion of my brain being a jar of shaken-up, muddy water. That is such an accurate visual of how I felt coming into this call. Now, I feel so much more centered and ready… like my battery’s recharged.” The Lookout is not another meeting on your calendar. It’s a pause that clears the water — a moment to realign before the next wave of work begins. Join us and reconnect with what moves you and your team forward. 🌿 The link to join is waiting in the comments.

When I started my communications career, the job was to tell the story we wanted our audiences to hear. That was true in advertising. And it was true later in Government comms. We couldn't always control the narrative, but if you had a trusted brand, and a voice of authority, people listened, and they often responded accordingly. The game has changed. Telling a story isn't enough, particularly not for Gen Z who don't take anything at face value. They dig, investigate, verify, validate. Gen Z don't want to hear you say that you care, they have to know that you really mean it. And if you don't? They'll walk. Whether out of a job, out of a shop, or out of the conversation. Performative storytelling or actions don't cut it anymore. We're living through the authenticity imperative. It's not just marketing being held to account, it's leadership, supply chains, sustainability, hiring practices... all of it. I absolutely loved diving into this, and other insights around Gen Z, purpose, generational workforces, and the future of work with my friends Anique Coffee and Leah Zalinski from Gather + Grow. But is it only Gen Z that cares about this stuff? What do my Millennials, fellow Gen X-ers, and Boomers have to say about 'walking the walk'? Let me know! #GenZLeadership #IntergenerationalTeams #WorkplaceEvolution #NewTerrain
