We're up to good. It's simple really. At giffgaff, doing good is our thing.

About us

Back in 2009, giffgaff set out to challenge the status quo in telecoms. We simply believed that people deserved better. With a mindset rooted in mutuality, we tore up the rule book in pursuit of creating a mobile service provider that people loved. Delivering value, flexibility and simplicity for our members became our obsession, in a way that was truly sustainable. Today we describe that as being ‘Up to Good.’ We’ve shown a restless energy for positive change, transforming the mobile market with fair prices, honest contracts and planet-friendly products and services. In 2023, 70% of phones sold by giffgaff were refurbished, which is a win for our members’ pockets and for the planet too. We champion great value connectivity that’s flexible and fair for everyone, helping our members to connect to the people and things they love. As a proud B Corporation, our success is defined not only by our commercial performance but also by our contribution to UK society. It’s our commitment to act for the common good and for the long term. It’s how we’ll create a future where our planet is cared for, our members and our people feel supported and included, and communities can flourish. In fact, the word “giffgaff” is Scots for “mutual giving”. Rolls right off the tongue, don’t you think? If you like the sound of us and would like to join our team, then check out our latest jobs.

  • We're thrilled to share that our very own Ian Tomney-Bell, giffgaff's DE&I Lead, was honoured with the Head of Diversity of the Year award at the recent Rainbow Honours awards. The awards shine a light on the trailblazers in the LGBTQIA community who dedicate themselves to driving change and championing equality. Nice one Ian 👏 On his award, Ian said: "I feel really proud to win this award and I'm so glad to do so whilst on this journey with giffgaff. Continued commitment to equity and inclusion is especially important. Our teams believe in consistently doing the right thing to ensure our giffgaffers and our members are represented. We remain committed to being champions of visibility and I can't wait to see what else we can achieve, together."  You can find out more about giffgaff's commitment to DE&I on our careers portal https://lnkd.in/ehD9VG_R  #Rainbowhonours25 #RH2025 #DEI

  • As a B Corp, responsible business practices are at our core and 2024 saw us introduce our Responsible Marketing Manifesto. The 2025 2.0 version is an updated and ongoing commitment to these principles and ensures we strive for every ad, piece of content, and partner to align with our commitment to people and planet. We're proud that the 2.0 manifesto focuses on three key areas: Sustainability: Reducing ad emissions and promoting sustainable behaviours. Inclusion: Championing representation and fighting bias in communications. Doing more of the right thing: Tackling misinformation, funding positive spaces, and boosting digital inclusion. This isn't just talk – it's how we walk the walk. We're holding ourselves accountable to create good for everyone. • The art of connection Meet Dave Martin. Big Issue vendor and talented artist. When Dave lost his bag on the Tube, he also lost his card reader and ability to take payments. That might have been it – but instead, it was the start of something better. Through our partnership with Big Issue, we were able to gift Dave a refurbished phone to get him back on track – not just selling magazines, but selling his bold, geometric artwork to customers across London. All with just a tap. In our new short film, we follow Dave on his pitch and into the studio, where his designs come to life. It’s a story about access – to tools, to income, to confidence, and to creativity. Together with Big Issue, we’re connecting vendors and job seekers across the UK with refurbished phones and digital skills support, helping them to pursue their passions and generate an income at the same time. #DigitalInclusion #SocialImpact #Creativity #BigIssue #UpToGood

  • Since founding the Up to Good Fund in 2023 alongside MG OMD, we have worked with 11 brilliant media partners and collectively committed a percentage of media spend towards nature recovery across the UK's ecosystems. Investing £145,405 into 10 projects expertly sourced by Ecologi | B Corp™ they include: ⚫ Peatland Restoration ⚫ Woodland creation ⚫ Restoring wildflower meadows & wetlands ⚫ Removing carbon & boosting crop yields through Enhanced Rock Weathering ⚫ Producing biochar from waste biomass to sequester carbon Last week we launched our blueprint to the wider media industry with the endorsement and support of Ad Net Zero. If the industry committed just 0.1% of media spend every year to 2030, we would raise £200 million for UK Nature Recovery - enough to trigger landscape-scale recovery. Huge thanks to everyone who attended our event, especially our brilliant panellists Nick Allport, Adam Boita, Sam Jackson, Tim Pritchard, Alex d'Albertanson, James Sexton-Barrow and Georgina Bramall - it was great to see and feel the support in the room. • It's Volunteers Week 2025 Here at giffgaff, we're really proud to share our time and talents with communities and good causes. Our Take Five volunteering programme enables giffgaffers to take up to five days out of the office to make a difference to causes they care most about. In 2024, our incredible giffgaff team showed what it truly means to give back. Through our Take 5 programme, over half of our workforce got involved in volunteering, donating 1,140 hours and supporting over 30 charities and good causes. 💜 Here are just a few ways giffgaffers made a difference last year: 📰 Big Issue – 40 giffgaffers hit the streets over two days to sell Big Issue magazines, raising awareness and vital funds. 🧠 Mind – 50 volunteers helped prepare therapeutic allotments to support mental health and wellbeing. 🏠 Trinity – Another 50 giffgaffers transformed a local homeless shelter’s outdoor and indoor spaces and cooked meals for residents. 🎁 Daniella Logun Foundation – 10 volunteers delivered Christmas presents to children living with cancer. 🌎 Clear Channel – A team helped clean up the streets of Uxbridge through a litter-picking event. 🌿 Wild Spaces – Volunteers helped conservation efforts at the Seven Sisters National Park, supporting biodiversity and habitat protection. 📚 Ark Academy – 20 giffgaffers hosted a marketing career insights day for Ark Academy students, supporting future career choices And we’re not slowing down. 2025 is off to an amazing start! ➡️ So far this year, 80 giffgaffers have already volunteered, donating 526 hours and supporting 33 different charities. We’re proud of the progress and excited to keep the momentum going.

  • We’ve given our members loads more data for no extra money, across a number of our contract and monthly rolling plans. Are we on giffgaff or something?! Yup. In a recent poll, we found that people across the nation are calling out for more acts of meaningful generosity - including from businesses - with over two thirds (69%) believing businesses could be more generous by giving their customers more, at no additional cost (25%). Enter giffgaff.... We've made quite a lot of noise about our data-loaded plans - sharing a fresh OOH and digital media creative, spreading the word through creators and teaming up with larger than life TV star David Potts, who brought acts of generosity to the public in Sheffield...on a pink horse-drawn carriage might we add. • giffgaff launches broadband - yes, you read that right 🚀 It might not have been our best kept secret 👀 , but it's a really exciting one. We’ve been chomping at the bit to say that not only are we launching broadband, we’re also recruiting up to 500 trialists to help us build it, together. Problem solving with the people that matter most - our members - is in our DNA. It worked for mobile and here we are again, for broadband. We know people are frustrated with their current service because they’ve told us, so for giving us a hand in helping build broadband that addresses some of the nation’s frustrations, our trialists will get £100. Plus, they’ll get 500Mbps broadband for just £10 a month for a year. Our service will be powered by the latest fibre technology on the nexfibre network, and later will also leverage Virgin Media O2's award-winning broadband network. It’s been a mammoth one for our teams to get off the ground and hats off to everyone involved. The thank you list is too long to include but 👏 to our giffgaffers, our members and future members - we can’t wait to do this with you. Anyone interested in hearing more about giffgaff’s new broadband service, or becoming a trialist, head to https://lnkd.in/egvx-SGx.

giffgaff is proud to be joining forces with Big Issue to tackle digital exclusion. Together, we're distributing refurbished devices to Big Issue vendors across the UK, helping them to increase their earnings and support their health and wellbeing too. Watch James's story and see how a refurbished phone from giffgaff is helping him manage his diabetes, run his business, and stay connected to his community. For James, and hundreds of other vendors across the UK, these refurbished phones mean more than just increased sales. They're opening doors to healthcare, friendship, and independence. #UpToGood #SocialImpact #DigitalInclusion #Partnership
