Feeding the Nation with great tasting freshly prepared food.
About us
Greggs is a leading food-on-the-go retailer with over 2,400 shops nationwide and serving over six million customers a week. We stand for great tasting, freshly prepared food that our customers can trust, at affordable prices and aim to become the customers’ favourite for food-on-the-go. With ambitions to grow to over 3,0000 shops nationwide and ownership of our supply chain, we are in a unique position to make quality, freshly prepared food accessible to anyone, anywhere. Our supply network... is being reshaped to support growth and compete more effectively in the food-on-the-go market. We're investing in a major programme to support shop expansion substantially beyond 3,000 outlets in the UK. Our shops... are being refurbished and relocated in locations away from high streets such as retail and industrial parks, motorway service stations and travel hubs, to meet the demands of busy food-on-the-go customers. Our franchise model continues to offer opportunities for further growth in non-high street locations. Our product offer... is differentiated by the way we freshly prepare food in our shops each day and offer customers outstanding value for good quality, great tasting food-on-the-go, at any time of day. This morning, we published our Q3 Trading Update, reporting a 6.1% increase in total sales during the quarter and like-for-like sales in company-managed shops up 1.5%. Our autumn menu includes great quality, value options including the new £5 “Big Deal” meal deal, seasonal favourites like the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and high-protein options such as our newly-launched egg pots and protein shakes. Meanwhile, our Bake at Home range is now available in 930 Iceland and 820 Tesco stores across the UK and online. The Greggs store estate has expanded to 2,675 shops, following 130 new openings so far this year, and we have a strong shop opening pipeline heading into 2026. The construction of our two new distribution centres in Derby and Kettering remain on track, supporting the next phase of growth. The Board’s expectations for the full year are unchanged and we remain clear on the strategic opportunities that lie ahead. We have opened our 40th Outlet shop in Edinburgh, helping reduce food waste and support local communities. Outlet shops offer surplus food at lower prices, with a proportion of profits going to local charities via The Greggs Foundation. It’s a simple way to make good food go further. At Greggs we’re proud to ‘Do It Fair’ as partners of The Fairtrade Foundation. Fairtrade works in partnership with almost two million farmers and workers internationally to move towards their vision of a world in which all producers enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods. In 2024, through sales of Greggs Fairtrade products, we generated over £1,500,000 in Fairtrade Premium. Fairtrade Premium is an additional sum of money producer organisations earn, on top of the Fairtrade minimum price, that allows them to invest back into their community or business opportunities of their choice. Our Fairtrade product range includes all our coffees, whether hot, or over ice, our tea (English Breakfast, Green and Peppermint), our hot chocolates, fruit juices, sugar sachets, syrups and our chocolatey sweet treats! We know there is still more work to be done for fairer pay, fairer treatment and fairer futures in our food industry. So, we encourage you to continue to ‘Do It Fair’ this Fairtrade Fortnight, 22/09-05/10, – when enjoying your great-value Greggs favourites. Yesterday, around 60,000 amazing participants took part in the world's biggest half marathon, starting in Newcastle. The AJ Bell Great North Run is a fantastic event that brings people together to raise money for charities, challenge themselves, and cheer others on. It wouldn't be able to go ahead without all the incredible volunteers and, at Greggs, we're proud to be the Official Volunteer Lunch Provider for the AJ Bell Great Run Series. We wanted to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who made yesterday possible and a massive congratulations to everyone who took part. The Great Run Company
