We’re thrilled to be part of the IF Oxford - Oxford Science & Ideas Festival this Halloween, where we’ll showcase our fascinating work on how disease impacts healthcare systems… zombie-style! Join HEOR CEO, Phil McEwan, and colleagues on the 31 October for a light-hearted and interactive session exploring what zombies can teach us about public health. From fast-moving infected to slow shamblers, we’ll compare zombie types across fictional universes to reveal how medical professionals tackle real-world health challenges and how modelling helps us understand and solve complex health issues. When preparing for a NICE single technology appraisal (STA), UK clients often rely on systematic literature reviews (SLRs) developed by global teams. While these reviews are comprehensive, they’re not always tailored to the specific requirements of the UK health technology assessment (HTA) landscape. NICE submissions demand a more focused approach – one that addresses the UK-specific decision problem and adheres to NICE-recommended methodologies. At HEOR, our evidence review and synthesis team specialises in critically evaluating global SLRs for UK HTA submissions, bringing deep insight into what NICE expects. They provide early strategic recommendations that inform the final stages of evidence synthesis. This proactive approach helps ensure that the evidence package is robust, relevant, and ready for submission. Behind every literature review, economic model, and value communication material lies a comprehensive and crucial process: the search for information, and at the heart of the process is the information scientist. We explore the work of HEOR’s principal information scientist, Shelley de Kock, an integral member of the evidence review and synthesis team who design and execute bespoke search strategies that uncover the critical evidence underpinning all our client work. Learn about: • Industry-accepted, user-friendly, and time-efficient citation tools that are used in cases when identifying the right evidence is challenging, i.e., when concepts – like “burden” or “unmet need” – aren’t always explicitly defined in the literature • The limitations and benefits of AI tools such as Semantic Scholar • Literature surveillance, a proactive approach that ensures new evidence is integrated into systematic reviews as it emerges, and so much more! https://lnkd.in/eKGg92Gq #literaturereview #informationscience #heor #healtheconomics
