Hutchison Ports (UK) Supports National Inclusion Week This National Inclusion Week, we’re proud to celebrate the work of our Diversity and Inclusion Working Groups at Hutchison Ports UK: Gender, LGBTQIA+, Wellbeing and Cultural Diversity.  Throughout the year our groups organise events and activities that support employees while also raising awareness of key themes. To celebrate National Inclusion Week, we look back at some of the events held so far in 2025. Further events planned include, World Metal Health Day 10-mile walk, Veterans & Reservists Social Group Breakfast and regular Cancer Support, Men’s Mental Health Cafe and Pride Drop-in sessions. #nationalinclusionweek #portofbritain

Port of Felixstowe Volunteering at the Landguard Nature Reserve Employees from the Port of Felixstowe joined other volunteers at neighbouring Landguard Nature Reserve to remove posts, cordons and litter pick. Port volunteers were also involved at the start of the project in March to protect the breeding area for ground–nesting birds such as, the Plover, by erecting the posts and cordons. The Nature Reserve, as well as, being a very popular community asset, is also a designated Local Nature Reserve (LNR) due to its value to the local community and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of its high wildlife conservation value, such as its rare, vegetated shingle habitat and botanical species. #portofbritain #landguardnaturereserve #volunteering

More Port of Felixstowe 150 Years Celebrations The Port of Felixstowe continued celebrations for its 150 Years Anniversary with two Employee Family Days held at the Felixstowe School in Trimley. Port employees and their families were treated to an array of activities from music, fairground rides, competitions, food, and drink, with something for all to enjoy. 

Hutchison Ports UK Supports National ‘Cycle To Work Day’ At Hutchison Ports UK, sustainability drives everything we do. In support of ‘Cycle to Work Day’, we are proud to spotlight our Port of Felixstowe and Harwich International Port employees who are embracing greener commutes with support from our Cycle to Work scheme. From reducing their carbon footprints, to boosting wellbeing, cycling to work is a small change that can make an impact. In partnership with a chosen provider, our employee ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme provides eligible employees with access to hire and potentially purchase bicycles and safety accessories from selected independent bicycle retailers. The provision of the scheme is reviewed at least once annually. Welcoming ONE Intelligence on its Maiden Call to the Port of Felixstowe We were delighted to welcome the ONE Intelligence on its maiden call to the Port of Felixstowe. Operated by Ocean Network Express, the 24,000 + TEU eye-catching, magenta-hulled mega-max ship, made an impressive sight on arrival. In celebration, HPUK Commercial Manager, Gemma Thompson welcomed the captain and crew aboard, presenting them with a bespoke celebratory cake to mark this significant visit to Felixstowe. This moment also highlights the benefit of recent deepening works carried out in partnership with Harwich Haven Authority, ensuring the Port of Felixstowe continues to accommodate the world’s largest container ships safely and efficiently. Huge welcome to our 2025 Engineering Apprentices!

Hutchison Ports UK Welcomes 2025 Cohort of Engineering Apprentices The latest cohort of engineering apprentices will begin their journey to becoming Hutchison Ports UK engineers in September 2025. The first year will be spent studying full-time at Colchester Institute, building a strong foundation before joining their colleagues on site from year two onwards. The Port of Felixstowe recently hosted the group for their first opportunity to meet Stephen Ryan CEng CMarEng, Head of Engineering for HPUK and to also connect with their fellow 2025 apprentice colleagues.
