A huge thank you goes out to iNHouse Communications for their recent donations! They sent over several big boxes filled with chocolate, popcorn and more, which we can distribute at our Community Pantry. At the Pantry, where people pay £5 each week and can choose 10 food or hygiene items, with a total value typically coming to around £50. While our clients may be struggling to feed themselves or their families, we are keen to ensure that everyone can still enjoy a sweet treat from time to time. Donations like this are a huge help for our Community Pantry and clients, and we are so grateful to iNHouse for their support.

  • We’re proud to work with Switchee in our growing built environment portfolio. By engaging with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on the draft guidance for Awaab's Law, Switchee’s smart tech is improving lives in social housing. Together, we’re helping ensure every tenant has a safe, healthy home.

  • Minister for Investment, Lord Jason Stockwood, saw first-hand the cutting-edge facilities at the newly opened Birmingham Health Innovation Campus as part of the Regional Investment Summit. The government wants more investment in every region of the UK. With world-class hospitals and universities, billions of pounds of research, state-of-the-art innovation infrastructure, and a young, diverse, vibrant and affordable city, Birmingham's thriving health and life sciences district is proof of the huge opportunity, and we are super excited at iNHouse to be involved.

Minister of State for Investment, Lord Jason Stockwood, discusses his visit to the newly opened Birmingham Health Innovation Campus (BHIC) this week. We welcomed Baron Stockwood on a tour of BHIC’s cutting-edge facilities, including the PHTA Ltd, led by Professor Neil Hanley, Head of the College of Medicine and Health, and Professor Gino Martini, Chief Executive Officer of PHTA. Working in partnership with Bruntwood SciTech, the campus will offer a full circle of translational medicine. Excellent discussion this morning at our latest iNSights breakfast with Bill Esterson MP, Chair of the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee. Bill shared valuable insights into the Committee's priorities as we work toward Clean Power 2030, and we had a productive exchange with energy developers and investors working across different technologies. The conversation highlighted both the significant commercial opportunities emerging from decarbonisation and the practical challenges that need addressing. Thanks to Bill for his time and to all attendees for contributing to such a constructive dialogue. These conversations between policymakers and industry are essential as the UK accelerates the energy transition.

Chair & Founder, iNHouse Communications. Former Director of Communications to the PM at No.10 Downing St.

After several weeks on the road with our iconic iNHouse Lounge, I’ve had plenty of time on trains to reflect - on people, politics, and the power of connections. I’ve spent the past month travelling from Bournemouth to Birmingham, Liverpool to Manchester - early starts, late finishes (and far too many coffees). Today, I’m heading back to Birmingham for the Government’s Regional Investment Summit. While I’m craving a long-planned mini break at the end of the month, this conference season has reaffirmed something important in the meantime. In an age increasingly defined by AI and automation, I’ve never been more convinced of the irreplaceable value of in-person experiences. Our iNHouse Lounge was as busy as ever this year - hosting over 80% of the Cabinet, leading newspaper editors, and political thinkers from across the spectrum. As we approach the Lounge’s 15th anniversary next year, it’s humbling to see what we’ve built: an event space and experience that others have sought to emulate. The magic, however, is simple - it’s the people, our great partners, must-attend events, and high-quality conversations that create the right mix. But we can’t rest on our laurels; we are only as good as our last season. That’s why innovation remains essential. Our new live podcast format quickly became a standing-room-only fixture - proof that, even as technology evolves, people still crave human connection. There’s something unique about these events: the buzz in the room, the shared laughter, and the real-time reactions - the feeling of being ‘in the moment’ that AI will never replicate. What truly brings everyone together - ministers, journalists, campaigners, and advisers alike - is conversation (oh, and awesome cocktails). Relationships built on trust, shared purpose, and the ability to look someone in the eye, land a handshake and agree - “Let’s work on this together.” So, rather than feeling exhausted after conference season, I headed back to Westminster energised and invigorated. Inspired as we bring this same spirit to our own event space, just a stone’s throw from Parliament, so that this sense of connection continues all year round. Even while I’m away at the Regional Investment Summit, our event space remains active as my colleagues host a breakfast with Bill Esterson, Chair of the Energy Select Committee, and a joint event with the National Energy Systems Operator. Post covid, many thought I was stupid to shell out for an event space at a time when hybrid working was all anyone talked about and companies were looking to cut desk space and not spend a penny more than necessary. I’m glad I had faith then, just like I do now. Live events will continue to play a central role in public affairs and communications - they are not fading away. In fact, I believe the appetite for authentic, human connection will only grow stronger over the next decade. In politics - and in life - people matter. And no algorithm is going to change that.

  • As part of our iNSights series, it was a pleasure to host Richard Tice at our Westminster event space this morning, where we hosted a candid discussion on the challenges facing government, how to get investment flowing back into Britain, and an insightful behind-the-scenes look at the work involved in building a new political party. Our thanks to Richard for a thought-provoking start to the morning!

Valuable few days at Scottish National Party (SNP) Conference meeting with business leaders, MSPs and MPs, discussing where energy sits in Scotland's political landscape and how the country can capitalise on what should be a significant opportunity. A few key takeaways: *The jobs question dominates everything: concerns about present losses in oil and gas versus future opportunities in renewables shaped nearly every conversation. *Scotland generates far more renewable energy than it consumes, yet local benefit feels abstract. The infrastructure is everywhere but translating that into felt advantage for communities remains the challenge, and more needs to be done to deliver genuine economic benefit from renewables in Scotland. *Energy is already a wedge political issue and will only intensify. There's a significant political opportunity for whichever party can articulate a credible delivery plan that communities actually believe; something backed by the polling we carried out with Opinium (Insights with impact) earlier this year. Looking forward to carrying on the conversation next week at iNHouse Communications energy panel - The Great Energy Debate: Policy, Progress, and the Path Ahead.
