This year’s Journal of Biophilic Design Conference in London is all about turning ideas into action. 💚 We’ll be sharing how sound is a powerful tool for creating healthier spaces. Our session, "From Ideas to Action: Biophilic Soundscaping in Practice", delves into practical approaches and real-world examples of bringing intelligent biophilic sound to urban and indoor environments. Join leaders in biophilic design, including Tye Farrow, Oliver Heath, Steve Nygren and many more, to help drive meaningful change in the built environment. Sound changes how a space feels before you’ve even processed why. Behind that instinctive reaction is science: Our brains evolved to read sound as information about safety, connection, and the life around us. But today’s environments are filled with man-made noise that our biology doesn’t recognize or reads as threats. By designing with positive, biophilic sound, we can reintroduce the organic patterns our brains respond to naturally – creating spaces that intuitively feel comfortable and help people think and feel their best. We call this "Living Acoustics" – and we’re exploring it with AKRF in New York later this month. 🎟️ Join our event for an evening of demonstrations and talks: https://lnkd.in/eCyeWrYA 🪄 Or DM us if you’d like to explore this topic in more depth through team training or multi-sensory project design sessions.

Workplaces generate more data than ever. But it’s often not bringing clarity, or being used at all. Much of it sits in silos. Occupancy data might tell us how many people are in a space, but not how they’re using it. Is it for quiet focus, collaboration, or a mix of the two? Inavate APAC explores how collecting the right data – and connecting it – can build a more complete picture of the workplace that helps us understand why and how spaces are being used. It's all about joining the dots between data and human experiences. Sound is in the spotlight. The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI)'s new report, "Investing in Health Pays Back", makes a compelling case for the business value of healthier buildings, and it highlights the role of soundscaping in enhancing cognition and wellbeing. The IWBI cites evidence that nature sounds can boost cognitive performance and showcases GSK’s new London HQ, where Moodsonic’s biophilic soundscaping contributed to an 8% improvement in decision-making. Our latest article explores how this report reflects a shift in design priorities – from controlling sound to curating it – and what that means for the future of wellbeing in the built environment. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ezsP7tb7
