We attended the Future Energy Wales Event in Newport last week to connect with members of the industry who are striving towards the same goal as us, creating a world powered by renewable energy. The mood going into the event was very positive as our Aberystwyth-based team had just been awarded consent for Alwen Forest Wind Farm and Grid Connection the week before. Highlights of the day included: catching up with RWE and other clients who we have worked with since 2018 to achieve this consent. We look forward to the next conference and continuing to form connections with our industry peers.

Leeanne, Fiona and Ashleigh from our GIS team recently attended the ESRI Scottish Conference in Edinburgh to chat to ESRI developers on new geospatial and digital trends in the industry. An inspiring day of innovation, networking and collaboration. There was lots of talk on the use of AI and the 'digital twin' and the new updates and advancements in software that will be rolling out soon! Watch this space!

We are delighted to welcome our new Head of ControlCentre, Gordon Burrows, to Natural Power. He will be taking on the role of strategic leadership of the UK's largest independent renewable energy control room, bringing almost two decades worth of experience in power system operations, planning and control, to the role, and we are excited to have him on board. The curious case of the dehydrated seaweed... The island of Vatersay’s wild Atlantic location makes it an excellent place to grow sustainable seaweed but processing it comes with challenges. We were proud to take part in the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) Annual Conference last week. Our Managing Director, Ciaran Farrell, joined a panel session on Workforce & Industry Development.
