We attended the Future Energy Wales Event in Newport last week to connect with members of the industry who are striving towards the same goal as us, creating a world powered by renewable energy. The mood going into the event was very positive as our Aberystwyth-based team had just been awarded consent for Alwen Forest Wind Farm and Grid Connection the week before. Highlights of the day included: catching up with RWE and other clients who we have worked with since 2018 to achieve this consent. We look forward to the next conference and continuing to form connections with our industry peers.

"Is today’s AI investment surge a productive boom, or a speculative bubble?" It is a question on everybody’s mind. The latest #OpenCircuit episode, is a must-listen for anyone navigating the intersection of AI and energy infrastructure. For those of us in renewables, the implications are huge: • Data centers are driving unprecedented demand for electricity, reshaping grid planning and capital flows. • The boom is catalyzing innovation in grid flexibility, distributed energy resources, and energy storage. • If the bubble pops, stranded assets may be a risk—but the grid itself is underbuilt and needs investment regardless. AI’s potential in resilience, predictive maintenance, and grid orchestration is enormous. But realizing these benefits will require strong leadership, thoughtful policy, and a focus on real-world solutions, not just hype.
