FRIGHTARAMA SURVIVOR PHOTO 🎃🕷🩸 After 8 years in the grave, our all-night horror marathon Frightarama was resurrected on Halloween! Thanks to everyone who came along - we had a terrifying night of cult + classic horror, deadly raffle draws, fancy dress, vintage video games and lots of gruesome surprises. Same again next year! 👻

Leicester's four-screen independent cinema, gallery and Café Bar in the heart of the Cultural Quarter
About us
In our four modern cinema screens we show everything from micro-budget independent films to the latest Hollywood blockbusters, and we regularly organise festivals and events. Our regularly changing art programme presents work by local and international artists, and our education work helps people of all ages to learn about, and create their own film and art. At Phoenix, we believe film and art have the power to enhance our lives. Watching a movie or visiting a gallery can entertain and inspire us, offering new perspectives on our lives and those of others. They deserve to be experienced somewhere special – which is why we work hard to ensure Phoenix is a place everyone can feel welcome and inspired. As part of our recent expansion, we now have a fabulous new Café Bar with a stylish yet comfortable design, and seating to suit a range of needs – whether you’re meeting friends for a drink, enjoying dinner before a screening, or using the space for a meeting with clients. Our chefs prepare delicious seasonal menus, using local suppliers, with daily specials, snacks and cakes, and we also serve a wide range of hot and cold drinks, wines and beers. For many customers, our staff make the difference. With a clear passion for our work, you’ll find many are studying film or art locally, or involved in the wider creative community Phoenix attracts. As a local charity, all our earnings go back into developing our creative programmes, enabling us to reach out to more people. We hope to see you soon.

The best dam night 🦫🪵 On Thursday, we had a bit of a rodent problem and the venue was overtaken by beavers! We hosted a very busy screening of Hundreds of Beavers - we had a hilarious night of slapstick comedy. We were joined by star Ryland Brickson Cole Tews for a special Q&A and merch, plus a whole lot of silly beaver shenanigans! Big shout-out to Box Office/ FOH Assistant Harry for donning the beaver costume for the second time!! 😆 📸 - Beth Melvin
