🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We're thrilled to be semi-finalists in the #XPRIZEQuantumApplications! 🎉 A huge congratulations to our dedicated team at Riverlane, whose innovative proposal focuses on how quantum computers can improve molecular and materials simulations. 🤔 Why does this matter? Simulating molecules and materials is highly complex using classical methods. We often reach a computational limit where it takes too long to uncover meaningful results, leaving scientists to resort to long, real-world test-and-development lifecycles. This is where quantum computers can help. Quantum computers can efficiently perform simulations at the atomic scale, making them perfectly placed to simulate molecules and materials in new ways. ⚛️ What has the team done? Our work focuses on improving how we understand electron interactions using a quantum method in the so-called ‘first quantisation’ framework. This allows us to study larger, realistic systems more accurately on future quantum computers. These are important for applications such as methane capture and achieving net-zero aviation, which are difficult to simulate on traditional computers. At Riverlane, we're committed to developing the tools and technologies that will empower the quantum community to reach utility-scale. This research accelerates our understanding of early fault tolerance, informing how we design our technology and build future quantum architectures. 🌐 XPRIZE Quantum Applications is a 3-year, $5M global competition designed to generate quantum computing algorithms that can be put into practice to help solve real-world challenges. We're excited to be part of this journey and contribute to a future where quantum computing can make a substantial impact. 🚀🔬 XPRIZE | #QuantumApplications | #QuantumComputing | GESDA - Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator | Google

Riverlane is the world leader in Quantum Error Correction (QEC), the technology that unlocks quantum computing's promise
About us
The fragility of qubits means today's quantum computers fail under an avalanche of data errors long before they reach utility-scale. Riverlane builds QEC tools and technology that correct quantum errors as quickly as they occur. Using sophisticated codes and decoders on proprietary QEC chips, our technology identifies and corrects errors millions, and ultimately billions, of times per second. We accelerate the quantum ecosystem by working closely with many of the world's leading quantum computer manufacturers, government bodies and high-performance computing (HPC) centres. Together, we're opening a world of new possibilities.

🌐 Riverlane makes its QECi Specification open to the quantum community! Quantum error correction is the key to unlocking useful, scalable quantum computing. To achieve this, quantum computers must tightly integrate their control systems with the quantum error correction (QEC) stack, coordinating exactly which data is exchanged, when, and in what format. That’s why Riverlane created QECi (Quantum Error Correction Interface) - an open standard that defines the data format and runtime states to be exchanged between a control system and a QEC system during computation, ensuring they can work together seamlessly. 💡 Why QECi matters: ✅ Independent upgrades – Upgrade your control system or QEC stack without compatibility issues. ✅ Interoperability – Choose the best solution for your hardware without vendor lock-in. ✅ Scalability – Handle the data transfer demands of the next big milestone, the MegaQuOp machine, capable of one million error-free quantum operations. Already adopted by Infleqtion, Qblox, Rigetti Computing and Zurich Instruments, QECi helps establish the foundational standards needed for scalable, hybrid classical-quantum computing. 📣 Hear from Zurich Instruments on why QECi matters to them 👇 📥 Download the QECi Specification here: www.riverlane.com/qeci #QuantumComputing | #QEC | #HPC | #ControlSystems

Quantum error correction (QEC) is the key to unlocking utility-scale quantum computing. Now there is a toolkit that makes it achievable for everyone. At this year's Quantum World Congress, our Founder & CEO, Steve Brierley, introduced Deltakit: a new, open toolkit that lowers the barrier to learning, developing, and adopting QEC. ✨ Run and analyse QEC experiments on simulators and real hardware ✨ Learn with our open-access textbook ✨ Equip researchers, HPC centres, and industry teams to adopt real-time error correction Today, there are only ~400 QEC specialists worldwide. With Deltakit, thousands more can now gain the skills to help turn quantum’s full potential into reality. 🎥 You can watch Steve’s talk and read the full session recap here: https://lnkd.in/eSvrFcUh #QWC2025 | #ErrorCorrection | #OpenSource

📦 Another step forward: Riverlane’s quantum error correction (QEC) hardware, Deltaflow, has now been installed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)! Deltaflow is the world’s leading real-time QEC technology, designed to deliver the extremely fast performance required to scale quantum systems. ORNL’s deployment of Deltaflow 2, the latest version of the technology, represents a major step in integrating QEC with high-performance computing (HPC) and accelerating progress toward utility-scale hybrid quantum–HPC systems. 🤝It was fantastic to have our Head of QEC Enablement, Abraham Asfaw, Ph.D., join the delivery team onsite at ORNL last week. Abe and his team work directly with customers to help them progress from QEC-ready to real-time QEC experiments, with the tools and support needed to succeed. We’re proud to partner with ORNL as part of our role in supporting the US quantum ecosystem, and our commitment to building the QEC technology that will underpin the world’s first utility-scale quantum computers. 📎Read more about our partnership here: https://lnkd.in/eE5Xku4D #QuantumComputing | #QuantumErrorCorrection | #HPC

Did you know the quantum industry is already learning crucial lessons from the semiconductor supply chain? 🤯 This fascinating article from Chip War author Chris Miller and our CEO Steve Brierley explores how the semiconductor industry's success is shaping the quantum landscape. Just like early chipmakers who had to do everything themselves, the quantum industry is now seeing specialised companies emerge, focusing on everything from error correction (like us at Riverlane! 👋) to algorithm development, control systems and qubit fabrication. This deep dive highlights: 1️⃣ The critical role of abstraction layers in accelerating progress. 2️⃣ The surprising level of specialisation already present in the quantum supply chain. 3️⃣ Why international collaboration is essential for quantum to reach its full potential. 4️⃣ How quantum doesn't have to wait (like semiconductors did) to benefit from compute power, with high-performance computing (HPC) and AI already turbo-charging the industry’s future.
