What does effective onboarding look like to you? It's my third week here at Scede and have to say it's been a refreshing experience, especially in a fully remote setting! Onboarding was a mixture of; - Structured learning with team members - Virtual meet and greets - Reading/videos + time for self-learning - Introduction to the buddy system This combination alongside regular check ins really showcased the low pressure, supportive intention for onboarding. Personally I think effective onboarding is crucial to embedding and ultimately retaining staff - people learn at different paces and it can be a big learning curve familiarising yourself within a organisation i.e systems/processes/tech. Without it, people can feel lost, undervalued and feel the pressure too soon. We also had our quarterly get together last week, a nice opportunity to meet some of my colleagues in person. A real mix of personalities 😆 but all sharing the same passion for recruitment as a 'craft'!
