New report findings are clear: funding malaria is not just a health investment, it fuels growth, protects trade, and secures a stronger, safer and more prosperous world for all. Underfund it and risk triggering the biggest #malaria resurgence on record, undermining economic potential and overarching global growth. It’s time to invest in the The Global Fund. Our new research projects that a malaria comeback could be the deadliest on record, see 750,000 more children lose their lives - costing the next African generation up to $19.7 billion in lost future earnings by 2030. But if leaders step up and funding gets back on track, the report predicts a boost of $34 billion in future earnings, with millions of lives saved by 2030. It’s time to invest in The Global Fund

Our new report is out, and the findings speak for themselves; Severe funding cuts to malaria could risk a resurgence costing Africa $83 billion in lost GDP by 2030, and 990,000 more lives lost, including 750,000 children under five. But if we stay on track to meet 2030 targets, we save 1.86 million lives and boost GDP by $231 billion. Global leaders must step up and invest in malaria and The Global Fund. We are pleased to launch this vital new report, alongside our partners at Malaria No More UK, highlighting the risks of a malaria resurgence that will steal lives and crush Africa’s economies. The evidence is clear - funding malaria is not just a health investment, it fuels growth, protects trade, and secures a stronger, safer and more prosperous world for all. We call on all global leaders to invest and fully fund The Global Fund at next month’s replenishment summit. Through this investment, we can unlock a malaria-free Africa and drive economic prosperity.
