💊 Veterinary Animal Medicines Amnesty 2025 💊 The veterinary profession is coming together again this November to hold an Animal Medicines Amnesty (formerly known as the Antibiotic Amnesty). The aim is to encourage pet owners to return any unused or out-of-date veterinary medicines to veterinary practices. This will allow for correct and safe disposal of these medications, which will avoid contamination of the environment and help prevent medicines resistance due to inappropriate use and disposal. This year the campaign is once again brought to you by RUMA Companion Animal and Equine (RUMA CA&E) and the Principal Sponsor is Zoetis. Start planning today! Visit the RUMA CA&E campaign page to download the resources and sign up to receive regular updates about the campaign: https://bit.ly/4nvEO3r

We'd like to take a moment to appreciate our heroes in blue - the #BVNACongress2025 steward team 💚 A friendly and welcoming presence throughout the event, the role of the steward is to assist delegates and visitors wherever needed, being on hand to provide directions or help, and making sure the event runs smoothly overall. The BVNA Congress steward team has been led by Chief Steward Alison Clark for more than 25 years. They work incredibly hard throughout the whole event - from well before the first delegates arrives, right until the last visitor leaves. BVNA Congress simply could not run without our exceptional stewards - thank you!

During #BVNACongress2025, we were joined by a panel of expert speakers to explore the work on potential #VeterinarySurgeonsAct reform, led by the UK Government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) throughout 2025 so far. As a key stakeholder within this process, BVNA has championed the voice of the veterinary nursing profession throughout. We are delighted to share the recording of this session, which provided more information on the process of legislative change, including the work undertaken so far, next steps and timelines. The panel also discussed the potential implications of VSA reform for veterinary professionals and practices, including opportunities for future ways of working, and how this could impact veterinary nurses alongside the wider veterinary team. 👉 Find out more; https://loom.ly/X_SoMwo

Our busy exhibition hall at BVNA Congress is always a vibrant hive of activity, and this year was no different! A wide range of veterinary and animal care organisations took the opportunity to exhibit with us in 2025 – with their teams enthusiastically engaging with delegates, while contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that we’re so proud of. 🍃 We celebrate our exhibitors through a series of annual awards, which credit companies for their commitment to sustainable practices when attending BVNA Congress, as well as an overall prize for ‘Best Stand’. Presented by then-BVNA President Lyndsay Hughes (now Senior Vice President) during Happy Hour at BVNA Congress, we are delighted to announce the winners of the 2025 Exhibitor Awards. 👉 Read more here; https://loom.ly/gTiGTc8 #BVNACongress2025
