Wow! 🤩😮 We've been reflecting on #IgniteCreatives🔥- our youth-led event, organised and led by our mighty #YouthBoard last Saturday 💪 What an opportunity it was to get involved in: 🎨A creative spray-can upcycling session, hosted by Ant and Izzy Graffwerk! 🖌️Hands-on workshops with tote bag painting and keychain making, led by our Youth Board members. 🤝Opportunities to connect, share thoughts on art and creativity (and life!), while relaxing in a safe and inspiring space. Thank you to Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre for an incredible space, the fantastic #Graffwerk, our brilliant Youth Board... and the inspiring young attendees 🥰

Travelling through the Belgian countryside today on Eurostar to the 1st Forum on EU-UK Cultural & Media Relations in Brussels tomorrow, we ride close to the histories of Loos-en-Gohelle, Vimy Ridge, Arras and Ypres. I’m reminded that this forum needs to be far more than arguing for touring rights and the impact of AI on our creative and cultural futures. The journey reminds me that whilst the poets of the First World War didn’t stop the rise of Hitler, Stalin and the other fascists who gathered around them, the poets and artists of our day could help us shape a sustainable future, fuelled by mutual understanding, optimism and a belief in our common humanity : not the petrol of fear, loathing and hatred. We just need to lift up our heads and listen to them, and act decisively on what they and their forebears have warned us about for decades.
