Earlier this year, we joined mediation leaders from across the UK at the national Peer Mediation Working Group. Richard shared Jersey’s progress and heard some inspiring stories—like CALM Mediation’s 10-year partnership where students not only resolved school disputes but later became community mediators. It was a powerful reminder: Mediation doesn’t stop at the school gates. It can shape who we become. This summer, we encourage our young mediators to reflect on: 🌱 What kind of community they want to help build 🤝 How their skills can support friends and family 💬 When to use their voice for resolution Let’s keep the momentum going. Into the Autumn, we are looking forward to connecting with our National Peer Mediation Network (25 Sept) and to teaching our flagship Professional Certificate in Mediation and Mediation Skills (PCMMS) course to a new cohort of aspiring mediators. That’s why we’re revisiting a powerful conversation we started this term: 👉 How can peer mediation help address conflict in the digital world? Thanks to the students at St Peter’s for posing this timely question. Now we’re inviting all our Peer Mediators to reflect over the holidays and into their school term: 💭 What are 3 big challenges they see online? 💡 And what are 3 possible solutions?
