Hurricane Melissa has left a trail of devastation across the Caribbean, leaving 1.6 million children at risk. Torrential rain, powerful winds, and landslides have destroyed homes, flooded communities, and cut off essential services. The storm swept through Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and the Bahamas, causing widespread destruction. Jamaica was directly hit by the hurricane, its strongest in nearly 50 years. The Government has declared a national disaster, and more than 280,000 children urgently need assistance. UNICEF has mobilised rapidly to deliver life-saving assistance for children and families in most urgent need. Across the Caribbean, UNICEF is assessing needs, working with governments and acting rapidly to help children and families recover. Your help is vital. Donate to our fundraiser today to support children impacted by this devastating hurricane. "We want to drive change, but we couldn't have done what we've done without partnerships like the one with UNICEF. It's not just about awareness, but also about deep impact." Marcela Melero, Chief Growth Officer, Dove. Susanne Dahl, Secretary General at UNICEF Danmark was joined by leading voices across the business sector such as Dove's Marcela Melero at #UNGA to discuss how we can all work together to deepen our collective impact for children. We know that when we work together, we can deliver lasting systemic change for children. Today, creating social impact is not only good for business, it is essential. As many children around the world face ongoing crises, our strength is our ability to work collaboratively. Now is the time for us to catalyse bold ideas, use advances in technology, invest in systemic change and bridge the gap between vision and sustainable outcomes. Children will not get what they need without a fundamental shift in how the world finances their futures and steps up to defend their rights. Join us, together we can create bigger impact for every child. A special thanks to our UK partners for joining us at UNGA80: Accenture, Unilever, Deloitte and AstraZeneca. The UK Government has said it’s committed to giving every child the best start in life – and has promised action on child poverty. Following a sector-wide campaigning push at Labour Party Conference, we’ve seen the strongest signs yet that the Government will act on ending the harmful two-child limit in next month’s Autumn Budget. See what we got up to on the streets of Liverpool during the conference ⬇️ There have, however, been recent worrying reports that the Government will only alter the policy - not scrap it altogether. In line with its commitment to the UNCRC, the Government must put the best interests of the child at the heart of its decision on the two-child limit. This means scrapping the two-child limit in full, for every affected child. Every child deserves the best start in life – not just the first two in a family. #EarlyMomentsMatter #AllKidsCount @Endchildpoverty

Waad and Naseem share how learning resilience and recovery techniques has helped them manage the lingering fears left behind by two years of trauma. Every single child in Gaza needs mental health support. Protecting all children from further harm and addressing their mental health needs at scale are among UNICEF’s highest priorities.

Every year, over 400 million children receive the polio vaccine - and their purple pinky finger is how vaccinators know they’ve had their dose. This #WorldPolioDay, we’re marking the fact that more than 20 million people today can walk because they were protected from polio.

Gender lens investing has the power to close the critical financing gap for women and girls. Women and girls represent half of the world’s population (or 4.1 billion) and half of its potential, yet they have been historically underrepresented in innovation and research. Recent data paints a stark picture of what it means to be a twenty-first century woman and girl and highlights the urgent need for investment in solutions. Join UNICEF UK and SAGANA for a dynamic workshop, exploring how capital and UNICEF's Venture Fund drive innovative, FemTech solutions. Hear from leading voices including Raya Papp, Founding Partner at Sagana; Milena Bacalja Perianes, Senior Consulting Director at Sagana; Patty Alleman, Catalytic Partnerships lead, and Hanna Burkhardt, Head of Venture Fund, both from UNICEF Innovation. 📆 Thursday 6 November 2025 12:30 - 14:45 The Conduit Club, London. 👉 Join us if you have an interest in gender lens investing, FemTech innovations, or women’s health investments - please RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible, as places are limited. ⬇️Pictured is Tagreed Hussein, a 12-year-old displaced girl, from Sana’a. She’s so excited to be back at school and learning again. Tagreed said: “I felt bored at home and I wanted to go to school. I only want to study and I don't want anything else, because learning is the most beautiful thing in life for me.”

Since 2019, UNICEF and Clé de Peau Beauté have reached more than 12.4 million girls with empowerment programmes. UNICEF Associate Director of Gender Equality, Lauren Rumble, joined Clé de Peau Beauté last week for an insightful conversation on harnessing the strength in girls’ stories and perspectives.
I look delighted in this picture, and for good reason! Last week I joined the Radiance in Action event in LA with Clé de Peau Beauté & an incredible group of editors, influencers, and communicators — who came together to discuss the power of amplifying girls’ voices and stories. Through our steadfast partnership with Clé de Peau Beauté since 2019, we reached more than 12.4 million girls with empowerment programs — from classrooms in Bangladesh breaking stereotypes and opening equal opportunities for millions of girls, to innovators in Indonesia tackling local challenges through tech, and peer mentoring for girls in Kyrgyzstan and Namibia. Because when girls rise, the world rises with them. 🌍✨ #GirlsEducation #Skills4Girls #STEAM #UNICEF #CledePeauBeaute
