About us
At the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation, we believe rugby league is more than just a game — it’s a way to bring people together, strengthen communities, and change lives. For the past 20 years, we’ve worked at the heart of Warrington to create opportunities for everyone to feel happier, healthier, and more connected. Through our programmes in sport, education, health, and disability, we’re proud to support people of all ages and abilities — from grassroots rugby to disability teams, wellbeing initiatives, and school programmes across the town. Every project we deliver carries the same goal: to make Warrington a place where everyone feels they belong — on and off the pitch. Together with our amazing partners, staff, and volunteers, we’re helping to build a stronger community for the future 💛💙

Ahead of the Game For years, Ryan Thomas Cartledge has been part of our rugby league family — helping to develop the next generation through our player pathway, academy and scholarship teams. Recently, he’s stepped outside the “rugby bubble” to deliver Ahead of the Game — a mental fitness programme delivered in partnership with Rugby League Cares and Movember, helping young players understand the importance of looking out for their mates. “It’s been something completely different for me, but really enjoyable to share the importance of talking to your mate.” 💬 We’re incredibly proud that Ahead of the Game was named Project of the Year at our end-of-season dinner — a true reflection of the impact it’s having across our community. 🏆 🎥 Hear from Ryan about what the programme means to him and why these conversations matter. #worldmentalhealthday #movember #aheadofthegame

🏉 Confidence. Connection. Community. When Sabrina first joined our women’s-only touch rugby sessions, she wasn’t sure what to expect. Now, she’s found new friends, a new passion, and a stronger sense of belonging — both on and off the pitch. 💬 “I feel happier and healthier because of the sessions and feel a stronger sense of connection to the town.” Watch Sabrina’s story and see how our Women’s Touch Rugby sessions are helping make Warrington a happier, healthier, and more connected town. For info on sessions for any of our Touch Rugby sessions, contact Mark at [email protected] or visit our website https://lnkd.in/dAyiVHY

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Louie ✨ At just 11 games this season, Louie has already dedicated 25 hours of volunteering as part of our Warrington Wolves Ball Crew. His commitment to the team – from men’s, reserves, academy, and women’s fixtures – has been outstanding. Louie rounded off his season on Saturday as part of the Academy Grand Final ball crew, bringing his first year to a close. And this is just the beginning — next season, Louie could support nearly 50 games and contribute more than 75 hours of volunteering. But Louie’s journey with rugby is about much more than the game. After the loss of his grandma – a lifelong Wire fan – Louie and his family found strength, comfort, and connection through Warrington Wolves. Louie promised they would “never miss a match for her,” and that passion has only grown. Since then, Louie has taken to playing rugby himself with Rylands U12s, made lasting friendships, and embraced every opportunity to be part of our community. Rugby has helped Louie feel happier, healthier, and more connected – not only to the club, but to the wider Warrington community. His mum shared: “Louie is a real people person with a huge heart. I couldn’t be prouder of him. Being part of the ball crew has been such a special experience – he’s met fantastic people on and off the pitch, and the staff and players have been wonderful with him.” We’re incredibly proud to have Louie as part of the Foundation family 💛💙 His story shows how rugby can connect, heal, and inspire – both on and off the field. #BeTheChange | #WireFamily | #Volunteers

🌟 Welcome to the Team, Will! 🌟 We’re delighted to welcome Will Radcliffe as one of our new Community Activators at the Warrington Wolves Community Foundation. Will brings over 11 years of experience in community sport, including 7 years at Lancashire Cricket, where he has used sport as a tool to change lives and improve physical and mental wellbeing. At the Foundation, Will is already getting stuck into our disability programmes and many of the other exciting projects we deliver across Warrington. “I am so honoured and excited to be here at Warrington Wolves Foundation, I can't wait to get stuck into everything and help to use my experience to further strengthen the amazing programmes open to all people in the community of warrington. This opportunity is great for me to work within a new sport and a new area where I am meeting different people who I have not really experienced before so this is a great opportunity for me to develop personally and gain new experiences, making me a team member who can work across multiple programmes with any type of attendees.” We’re thrilled to have him on board and can’t wait to see the positive impact he’ll make in our community 💛💙

Reclaiming a lost passion 🌟 Not long ago, Jenson thought he’d never pick up a rugby ball again. His love for the game had faded — until the Warrington Wolves Foundation visited his school to set up a team for one of our local school festivals. That one moment changed everything. 🙌 Jenson rediscovered his passion, and it’s already led to some incredible memories — like winning the Magic Moment at the Rhinos Challenge. 🏆 But the story doesn’t end there… Inspired by his son’s journey, Jenson’s dad Tom has now completed his Level 2 Coaching Qualification and joined the coaching staff at Rylands Sharks. 🦈💪 Although Jenson might not be a Wolves fan just yet, his journey shows the real impact of the Foundation’s work — sparking opportunities, inspiring families, and creating lasting change in our community. 💛💙 #BeTheChange #RugbyLeague #Community
