What emerged? Impact and value creation are no longer separate conversations. For early-stage companies, 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 — across talent, customers, capital, and regulation. Together with our speakers and the ImpactVC community, we unpacked how mission-led founders and VCs are using impact as a strategic lever for performance, not a trade-off. 💡 Four takeaways: 1️⃣ 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Purpose attracts and retains top operators and builds cultures that scale. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 – Impact startups can win by solving underserved, high-value problems. 3️⃣ 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 – The investor pool rewarding measurable impact is expanding fast, and a range of non-dilutive capital is becoming available for impact founders. 4️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – Policy tailwinds can become built-in growth drivers for impact driven businesses. In the conversation, they referenced brilliant real-world case studies from Axle Energy, Flok Health, RideTandem | B Corp™, Stream, Urban Jungle Insurance, DITTO Daily, Jude, and Oxford Cancer Analytics — showcasing how impact directly fuels performance and value creation. Thanks to ImpactVC for a great lunchtime webinar / discussion yesterday about the benefits of "impact" as a driver of business value creation. My main takeaway was how even for businesses that might not fall into the typical impact investor portfolio, getting clear on your mission / purpose brings tremendous value in terms of employee engagement (translates to productivity, hiring and retention, etc.) and stakeholders communications (translates to engaging customers and investors for better commercial outcomes). This was backed up with loads of data and case studies from the latest Impact VC publication: https://lnkd.in/egGxH8Pk Yet more evidence that a proactive approach to impact and sustainability is a key driver of business resilience and growth 👏

🚀 It’s been a busy few weeks for our ImpactVC Germany Chapter! A huge thank you to our Chapter Lead Elena Harumi Stark and Steering Committee Member Elzan Godlewski for pulling together two community-driven moments to ignite the impact ecosystem across Europe 🌍 💡 At Bits & Pretzels, we teamed up with UnternehmerTUM, AENU, and Netlight for “Connecting Europe’s Builders” — a packed side event bringing together founders, corporates, and investors driving impact in Europe. The takeaway was clear: Europe won’t scale breakthrough innovation if we keep working in silos. ⚡ A week later in Berlin, we co-hosted “The Sharing Table: An Evening with Impact VCs + LPs” alongside kopa ventures, 1KOMMA5°, and Better Society Capital during the The Global Impact Investing Network's Forum. In 1KOMMA5°’s showroom, VCs, LPs, and ecosystem partners gathered for candid conversations around how to scale both profit and purpose. Both moments underscored what ImpactVC is all about: connecting people, capital, and conviction to accelerate a venture ecosystem where impact and performance reinforce each other. 💬 If you’re working in venture and want to get involved in more ImpactVC events, trainings, and community resources — online and in person — sign up to join the community here: https://lnkd.in/eQTS7RMi 🙏 Finally, a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the magic happen across these two eventsFrederick Pietzcker Michael Stockerl Philip Prestele Sophia Spitzer Dr. Philipp Lill Philip Specht Jannik Schall Luis Sperr Selma Ben Attia #ImpactVC #VentureCapital #ImpactInvesting #EcosystemBuilding #BitsAndPretzels #GIINImpactForum #Germany

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you to Elena and the ImpactVC working group for driving this important conversation forward. The data is clear: Impact isn’t a trade-off; it’s a competitive edge that drives long-term value. Check out the full Impact as a Driver of Business Value Creation paper and findings here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eZQMGHRh
Head of Impact & Platform at AENU | Climate VC | Supporting Founders & Investors Transforming Critical Industries | People. Planet. Performance.
If you still think impact is philanthropy, it’s time for a serious update. The climate crisis is already reshaping markets. But here’s something rare: data showing that solving big societal challenges = outperformance. I had the privilege of contributing to the ImpactVC report Impact as a Driver of Business Value Creation. That work, together with new insights from reports like BNVT Capital’s Benevolent Disruptors, points to a clear thesis: impact is alpha - not a concession. According to BNVT Capital’s findings: 📈 Companies addressing structural problems achieve 51% higher returns than traditional venture investments. 📈 “Indirect disruptors” - those solving systemic challenges even beyond their core monetization - deliver 67% higher returns. 📉 And they tend to be more resilient during downturns, as demand for real solutions grows when systems are under stress. Our findings at ImpactVC align: ✅ Impact-aligned businesses attract and retain top talent ✅ Build deeper customer trust and loyalty ✅ Unlock differentiated funding opportunities ✅ Stay ahead of regulatory and market shifts For investors, the conclusion is clear - impact isn’t a moral choice; it’s a strategic advantage. The strongest portfolios of the next decade will be built around solving real problems, not externalizing them. If you’re rethinking how impact can strengthen your investment thesis, I highly recommend diving into the report linked in the comments.
