UK Cyber Security & Resilience Bill: Are You Ready? Big changes are coming for organisations connected to the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI). The Government’s upcoming Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, set to be introduced later this year, will reshape cyber regulation across CNI and its supply chains. The Bill will: ✅ Expand the scope of NIS regulations ✅ Strengthen supply chain security ✅ Introduce tougher security and incident reporting duties ✅ Grant new oversight powers to regulators   Managed service providers, large data centres, and critical suppliers will be among those newly in scope - with significant implications for compliance and risk management. Non-compliance could lead to increased scrutiny, new oversight fees, and heightened regulatory intervention. The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has successfully organised a three-day national Cyberdrill, in partnership with the Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and the Shadow Server Foundation. The Cyberdrill formed part of activities marking the 2025 National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) under the theme “Building a Safe, Informed and Accountable Digital Response Ecosystem.” It focused on cyber threat intelligence and incident response, bringing together Sectoral Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), licensed managed cybersecurity service providers, and accredited cybersecurity establishments. Over the three days, participants honed their technical and operational capabilities, strengthened collaboration, and tested their preparedness to respond to the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks. This initiative reaffirmed CSA’s commitment to building a resilient, coordinated, and intelligence-driven response framework for Ghana’s digital ecosystem. #NCSAM2025

An Empowering Women in Cybersecurity event brought together S3 pupils from secondary schools across the city at Glasgow Caledonian University this week. 👏 Organised as part of the British Council-funded project, the three-day programme introduced young women to cyber security through hands-on workshops. Participants explored topics such as securing emails with artificial intelligence and cyber physical systems − technology that integrates computers with physical processes such as smart grids, automated factories or self-driving cars. They also participated in digital forensics workshops, which concluded with a challenge on the final day to assess their understanding and awareness. 💡 Dr Salma Darwish Mohamed, Lecturer in Cyber Security and Networks in the Department of Computer Science at Glasgow Caledonian, runs the programme with Professor Emad Farrag. She said: “Cyber security is fast becoming one of the most critical areas of our digital age, yet it remains heavily male dominated. By engaging school pupils at this early stage, we can raise awareness of the opportunities available and show that this is a field where women can thrive.” ♀️ The event formed part of the wider Empowering Women in Cyber Security project, delivered in collaboration with Aswan University in Egypt. The initiative is designed to inspire and educate women and girls in the UK and Egypt − from secondary school pupils and first-year university students to women over 30 − and runs until January 2026. 🤝 So far, the project has included outreach events in Egypt, with a February session engaging women over the age of 30 in partnership with the Egyptian Centre for Women’s Rights, and an April programme focused on university students.
