As part of my work for the book, I developed The Culture Builders Engagement Style Profiling Tool, the only system that specifically details how individual managers and leaders engage others for performance. It measures five core areas that are needed to create empowered, motivated teams who deliver their 'all' for their organisation and thus drive performance. The profiling tool has been used within organisations across the world to develop leadership engagement skills.

I mentor people who want to enhance their board careers. Often they seek professional mentoring because they have exhausted themselves trying to step from volunteer to paid boards, invested heavily in qualifications that don't open doors, or because years of coffee ☕ drinking with anyone who appeared to have an insight (or introduction) to share has not resulted in any real progress. The article below highlights the exhaustion felt by women, in particular, who may have disproportionate caring responsibilities. Men also report frustration and exhaustion. Sometimes this, alone, can be the thing that holds you back. You have the skills, qualifications, and experience. You lack the energy to display that vital spark, curiosity, and warmth. Directors need energy to invest in their roles. The answer is not to give up. You are more than enough. You are perfectly good at the things that make your most valuable contribution. Announcing the launch of the Disabled and Neurodivergent Business Alliance (DNBA) I’m proud to share the launch of the Disabled and Neurodivergent Business Alliance – a UK advocacy group dedicated to championing disabled and neurodivergent owned and led businesses. This new Alliance will: Provide accreditation for disabled and neurodivergent businesses. Build a national directory to showcase and connect these businesses. Promote supplier diversity, ensuring that more organisations can engage with and benefit from the incredible innovation and talent within our community. Offer advocacy and support to drive the inclusion and promotion of disabled and neurodivergent owned and led businesses. We know that supplier diversity creates opportunity. It brings fresh perspectives and reflects the society we live in. Yet disabled and neurodivergent entrepreneurs are too often overlooked. The DNBA is here to change that. This is just the beginning – and we’re calling on partners, allies, and changemakers across sectors to get involved. Together, we can create a marketplace that is fairer, more inclusive, and richer in ideas and innovation.
