Neighbourhood Plan - Ruddington

Politics
As a selected member of the Project Team I work with the approval of the Parish Council to complete a Neighbourhood Plan for the village of Ruddington. I am also the lead for the RNP Development Design Guide. A Neighbourhood Plan is a legally binding document developed by the community inline with the Localism Act - giving more power to communities over their local area especially in regards to building and development.

Since, this page has grown from strength to strength and become an integral part of village life, for residents and local businesses alike.

Protect Ruddington was set up in 2015 in response to the threat of inappropriate development on Green Belt land with Ruddington Village. Since the group's scope has expanded and we work with other community groups safeguarding the future and integrity of Ruddington.

Following the recent closure of the former youth centre and fitness venue, the building on the green is once again left unused, unloved and undervalued. We believe a large central building like this should always be kept open for the village to use and enjoy. The Green Space is a new proposal being made to the County Council to re-open the building as a community hub, catering for all- from children to local businesses. A place that offers support, a friendly atmosphere, community spirit and…
