In 2016 I was appointed as a trustee for Fight for Sight, the UK's main eye research charity with a remit to assist the in-house team develop and maintain focussed communications activity.
Fight for Sight is the largest charity in the UK dedicated to funding research into eye disease which partners with leading institutions across the UK to fund world class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease.
The charity's research has:
- saved the sight…In 2016 I was appointed as a trustee for Fight for Sight, the UK's main eye research charity with a remit to assist the in-house team develop and maintain focussed communications activity.
Fight for Sight is the largest charity in the UK dedicated to funding research into eye disease which partners with leading institutions across the UK to fund world class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease.
The charity's research has:
- saved the sight of thousands of premature babies
- created the UK Corneal Transplant Service (52,000 transplants to date)
- set up the first clinical trial of gene therapy for inherited retinal disease
- sourced a potential treatment for choroideremia (with the Tommy Salisbury Choroideremia Fund)
Fight for Sight is funded entirely by voluntary contributions.
