Leading with Trust Trust is not just a feature of leadership, it’s the foundation. In this interview with @HRTech Edge, I shared why transparency, ethics, and consistency are essential to strong leadership in #HR tech, especially in #backgroundscreening. It’s an exciting time to be in this space…and an even more important time to lead with purpose. https://lnkd.in/g6bPmxwq

Today, I sat with four CEOs and asked them, is #HR really a Cost Center? Their answer was clear: “We know it’s not—but too often, it feels like it.” I had the privilege of moderating the CEO Power Panel: “Power Duo – CEO & CHRO as Architects of Business Reinvention” held by The Economic Times at the ETHRWorld Future Forward SEA event—where the conversation was raw, real, and eye-opening. The CEOs on stage— SM Lee (Thomson Medical), Satyaki Banerjee (LuxAsia), Ardi S. Hardjoe (Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital), and Chin-Siong Seah (Former CEO of Singapore Institute of Management and IDA International) —shared a powerful truth: “We want HR to be strategic, but the conversations are often about policies, processes, or budgets—not about market wins and growth.” That struck me deeply. Because when HR leaders speak the language of business outcomes—high-performer growth, retention, and strategic talent readiness—they stop being seen as support functions and start being seen as architects of reinvention. This is the shift we need: - From managing attrition to building high-performer pipelines. - From HR dashboards to business impact metrics. - From cost center to growth engine. To continue the conversation, I shared a small collection of my essays, “HR is NOT a Cost Center,” with the panelists—an attempt to capture ideas on how HR can create measurable business impact. Please DM me or comment below if you would like to get a digital copy too! Thank you to The ETHRWorld South-East Asia team, Yasmin Taj, Nilisha Rao, Khushboo Narang, Shashi Sharma for the opportunity to share leadership perspectives with the HR Leaders of ASEAN. #HRisNOTaCostCenter #ETHRWorldSEA

Transparency is not optional. It is the new authenticity. In this episode of Employer Branding Unfiltered, I sit down with Ankit Pathak to unpack what it really means to lead in #EmployerBranding today. We talk about navigating career transitions, the loneliness of leadership, the power of building relationships across teams, and why emotional intelligence is critical for success. We also dive into the intersection of DEI and employer branding, and how activation strategies can actually resonate with employees and candidates. HR is at a crossroads. The traditional approach isn’t enough anymore. Businesses are looking for strategic leadership from HR, not just administrative tasks. To stay relevant and make an impact, HR leaders need to: • Shift their time and energy into helping the company reinvent work and jobs to support the AI transformation • Unlock the power of managers: these are the people outside of HR who will deliver on the CHRO's mission • Stop putting HR's own efficiency and being the compliance police at the top of the agenda - and recognize when these things have hit the point of diminishing returns for HR's impact on business outcomes. The opportunity for HR to lead is now. It's time for every CHRO to recognise that the next transformation is here - and it's not about HR's efficiency. #HRTech #Productivity #Leadership

Nearly half (46%) of employees rarely or never socialise with colleagues after hours, according to research by Blackhawk Network . In both my books, I researched heavily the importance of relationships with our colleagues to foster psychological safety and collaboration. In this article for Employee Benefits , Zoe Wickens interviewed me about whether more social clubs might be the answer in an increasingly distant workforce.
