This week we had the pleasure of hosting our first OC Development Breakfast event in collaboration with The Story Lab and our Social Mobility employee-led network. The morning was dedicated to driving inclusive leadership and accelerating the impact of employee networks, with a specific focus on social mobility. The room was buzzing with conversation, insights, and new connections. We welcomed four inspiring leaders to share their stories: • Isabelle Parasram OBE, CEO of The Institute for Social Value • Nilesh B. Dosa MBE, Founder of icanyoucantoo & leader in social equality at EY • Daniel Cashmore, Partner & leader in Social Mobility Client Engagement at Osborne Clarke • Dr Michelle Westwood. PhD, FCIPD, Chief People Officer, Osborne Clarke The session encouraged attendees to re-write internal narratives that may be holding them back, and cultivate positive mindset's and cross-generational learning to create safe and inclusive workplaces. Thank you to Amanda Sloan and Leonie Corcoran of The Story Lab (www.thestorylab.rocks) for their design and facilitation of this successful session. Thank you to all our clients and charity partners who attended. #InclusiveLeadership #SocialMobility #DiversityandInclusion

In the landmark judgment in Getty v Stability AI, Getty largely failed in its IP infringement claims and the decision is a win for Stability AI and AI developers generally. The judgment was more limited in scope than had initially been anticipated as Getty dropped its primary copyright infringement and database rights infringement claims at trial. However, the High Court dismissed Getty's secondary copyright infringement claim, but did find some limited historic trade mark infringement relating to older models of Stable Diffusion. Osborne Clarke featured widely in coverage of the judgment, with Robert Guthrie and Luke Maunder analysing the judgment and noting that, due to its limited findings, it is only a taster in the wider AI and copyright debate where many questions remain unanswered. Last week the Renters' Rights Act received Royal Assent – setting in motion a big reset for the private rented sector (PRS) in England. One of the most significant changes is that assured shorthold tenancies are replaced by periodic tenancies running month to month. This is a key read for landlords with PRS exposure, build to rent or mixed portfolios, as turnover risk, exit timing and resourcing will shift. Implementation will be phased and our Insight maps what changes first and where to focus to protect cash flow and asset strategy: https://lnkd.in/eeij2QAZ Join our webinar on the 20 November where Property Disputes residential experts Rebecca Francis , Susan Thompson and Jessica Carter-Syme, will be taking a first look at the impending Renters' Rights Act following Royal Assent to discuss what's changing, when, and who will be affected. On Thursday evening, our REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) network hosted colleagues and clients at an insightful Black History Month event featuring award-winning author, historian, and filmmaker David Olusoga. David O. spoke compellingly about how forgotten and hidden stories from British history continue to shape society today, and shared examples of Black contributions within our history that both celebrated unsung heroes and acknowledged the uncomfortable truths of the reign of the British Empire. Following David's talk, Osborne Clarke Partner Anika Chandra joined David for a fireside chat and audience Q+A, where themes of British identity, the evolving narrative about multiculturalism and the importance of recognising and disrupting our biases without feeling shame. Critically, the session explored both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for driving meaningful change and advancing racial equity within the legal sector and wider society. We also enjoyed some tasty food from Theresa Olaniran FRSA from 6 Degrees of Ayoka. A big thank you to David O., Anika Chandra, and the REACH committee for opening this important discussion, and to our clients and colleagues for joining us. #BlackHistoryMonth #BritishHistory

Winvia Entertainment intends to use the net proceeds of the placing to fund acquisitions in the large but fragmented UK prize draw sector.
