From October 14-16, 2025, the Belmont Forum attended the GRC Regional Meeting Middle East/North Africa, held in Cairo, Egypt. The Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT), Egypt, and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), Kuwait, hosted the event. The meeting's theme was "Equity-based science, technology and innovation for inclusive human development and global sustainability." Discussions covered "Reimagining Inclusive Open Science, AI for Equity, Justice, and Sustainability," and "Research for Sustainable Communities." These conversations helped shape principle statements for adoption at the 2026 GRC Annual Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. Our involvement helps the Belmont Forum stay current on issues and contribute to these discussions. Hilario Espinosa, our Membership Relations and Open Science Officer, represented the Belmont Forum. His attendance offered opportunities to network with other organizations and strengthen relationships within the global research community. #BelmontForum #GRCMeeting #OpenScience #ResearchNews
