Sometimes when working on a standing front choke or guillotine, switching off to a figure-4 Neck Crank might just do the trick. One of my fighters has had great success with this technique.

Step 1

June starts with a front choke on Kim.

Step 2

June releases her grip and catches her left bicep with her right hand.

June releases her grip and catches her left bicep with her right hand.

Step 3

Keeping the figure 4 grip, June places her left palm on Kim's right shoulder.

Keeping the figure 4 grip, June places her left palm on Kim's right shoulder.

Step 4

June leans backward and presses Kim's shoulder away and downward as she pulls her right forearm up and leans her right shoulder backwards.
