Rabbi Yudin's numerous contributions to Yeshiva University were formally
acknowledged in 1993, when he received the Yeshiva College Alumni
Association's prestigious Bernard Revel Memorial Award in Religion and
Religious Education.
Rabbi Yudin, who lives in Fair Lawn with his wife, the former Shevi
Werner, has been the spiritual leader of Shomrei Torah since 1969.
Active in virtually aspect of Jewish communal life,
Rabbi Yudin has served as president of the Rabbinical Council of Bergen
County and spearheaded the construction of the Fair Lawn Mikvah.
Thanks to his weekly parsha commentary broadcast on radio station WFMU's
"JM in the AM" program, Rabbi Yudin's renown extends to thousands of
listeners in the tristate area. Rabbi Yudin's distinguished resume as
author is notable for his most recent work, the introduction and
explanatory essays found in the Artscroll Transliterated Linear Siddur,
a landmark prayerbook designed to allow all Jews, regardless of
background, to be full participants in the synagogue service.
