LFM is an international journal on religion
in Africa & elsewhere
LFM publishes articles and manuscripts
in French and English. It looks at religion at large, with a strong
emphasis on Christian missions and their legacy. Geographically,
it focuses on the African continent and tries to compare the
latter with other areas. It offers a wide range of analytical
perspectives, with contributions from disciplines such as history,
anthropology, sociology, political science and theology.
LFM was founded in 1995 in Lausanne, Switzerland,
by the late Klauspeter Blaser
together with a group of students. Created as a series of occasional
papers, it became an international peer-reviewed journal in 2001
with the formation of an editorial board. On that occasion the design and form of the publication changed. In 2005 LFM celebrated ten years of existence - on that occasion it held a major international conference. Several new projects are in the making for 2006 and 2007.
