We Appreciate Your Help and Want to Reward you For Your Time

With the advent of the New Year, the upcoming Claxton Shield, the Women�s National Championship, and the pending National League, Baseball WA are proud to announce the �Friends of Baseball� Program.  Bringing baseball events of this magnitude to Western Australia is a huge undertaking and would not be possible without the generous contributions of our loyal volunteers.

A Win, Win for Baseball!

In order to recognize and reward the contributions made by our volunteers, the �Friends of Baseball� program will provide a small donation on behalf of the volunteer towards a baseball association, club, team, or group based on the number of events worked at a standard rate.  It�s a �win, win� situation in that the game of baseball benefits from the work of volunteers, and the money generated from that hard work remains in the baseball community.

Raise Money for your Preferred Baseball Organisation

To be more specific, the average Perth Heat Game lasts approximately 2.5-3 hours requiring a number of volunteers to perform various tasks including cooking in the canteen, selling beers at the bar, taking tickets, parking cars, announcing the games, scoring the games, preparing the field, etc.  As fair reward for this 2.5-3 hour commitment, Baseball WA will make a $25 donation towards the volunteers preferred organisation or group (eg. Masters, State Teams, a Junior or Senior Club, the Women�s Council, the Umpires Association, BWA, or another negotiated group). 

Get Your Club or Group Involved

Under the �Friends of Baseball� program, payments to the designated organisation will be made on behalf of the individual twice per year.  Once prior to Christmas and again at the end of the season.  Considering the upcoming Claxton Shield and Women�s National Championships, it is quite realistic that an individual person could raise $500 towards a particular cause. Combined with a number of individuals from your club or group and you are well on your way to making a real impact on your club and the game of baseball.

Recognizing Volunteers

In addition to providing a monetary incentive, Baseball WA will also maintain an honour board dedicated to the individuals who make the largest contributions to the �Friends of Baseball� Program.  The honour board will be maintained and displayed at  Baseball park and on the Baseball WA website.
