Welcome to the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation Bicycle Information Web Site.

The purpose of the LADOT Bicycle Homepage is to provide bicycle information to the constituents of the City of Los Angeles. With a primary emphasis on the use of bicycles for commuting and utilitarian purposes, the page will provide information on bicycle facilities, the Los Angeles Bicycle Advisory Committee, bikeway maintenance as well as safety information, bicycling and the law and other sources of information on bicycling as a commuting option.

Bicycle Plan Update
The City of Los Angeles has adopted the 2010 Bicycle Plan. The Plan, details, and the project reports are available at www.labikeplan.org.

Give Me 3 - Bike Safety Campaign
Mayor Villaraigosa unveiled the Give Me 3 campaign to alert motorists to the minimum passing distance needed to pass bicyclists. Senator Lowenthal has introduced a bill in the California legislature to codify the 3' requirement. To download the artwork and print your own poster click here.

Bicycle Advisory Committee
The Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) meets the first Tuesday of every even month (February, April, etc.) at 7 PM at the Hollywood Neighborhood City Hall Community Room, 6501 Fountain Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90028. The BAC Advocacy and Education; Bikeways; and Planning subcommittees meet during the odd months (January, March, etc.) at various locations. Committee agendas will be linked to this notice as they are provided by the committee.
