У раду су размотрени неки у новијој литератури изнети ставови о црквеним  приликама у средњовековном Призрену и области којој припада, затим о историји неких српских црква у том метохијском граду, као и мишљење да је ставротека српског краља Милутина и рашког епископа Григорија II из Доминиканског манастира у Дубровнику била поклоњена некој цркви Светог Петра у Призрену. Показало се да ти ставови и мишљења немају изворно уте
мељење, да су плод методолошке некоректности и пренебрегавања поуздано утврђених чињеница зарад тенденциозног преобликовања слике прошлости.

Чајничко јеванђеље представља српски писани споменик из средњег вијека који до скоријег времена није био у центру политички мотивисаних приступа историји средњовјековне Босне које називамо „богумилском хипотезом”. Ипак, током 2023. то се промијенило и управо је дошло до наглог пораста интересовања за овај знаменити библијски кодекс. Већина „чињеница” које су тада истицане задржавале су идеолошке обрисе оцртане у ранијој боснистици, а нарочито се као политички ангажовано појављивало непрекидно понављање тезе о наводном „прилагођавању текста богослужењу Српске православне цркве”. У овом раду аутор показује идејна полазишта једног таквог наратива. Испоставља се да је поимање о „богумилској” или бар „неодређено јеретичкој” Цркви босанској поникло из идеолошких  потреба Аустроугарске, хрватског романтизма, као и из настојања комунистичких власти да се начине неки специфични садржаји СР БиХ. Иако је  богумилска теза напуштена у науци, очигледно је да се њено идеолошко зрачење покушава и даље обезбиједити кроз варијације у којима она неће
бити експлицитно изречена али ће њени ефекти остати дејствујући. Чајничко јеванђеље, у коме нема никаквог трага „богумилства” и „јереси”, тако постаје жртва политичке, тј. идеолошке пропаганде вођене из сасвим ненаучних разлога.

To support their political goals, the Albanian political and scientific elite in Kosovo strives to find something in every significant example from international public law that would significantly support their aspirations. Historical science was engaged in this task previously. Its conclusions are disseminated among the Albanian population by the very influential press in Pristina. It makes these articles easily accessible for reading and access by the Serbian community as well. Of course, this is a one-way communication. There is no response or polemic with the appropriate scientists and experts who would refute these positions. In this way, indoctrination is also directed towards the Serbian population, as well. It seems that this is precisely where the fundamental weakness of their aspirations lies. Because they are of an absolute, uncompromising character and basically propagate violence as the only means to achieve these goals. That is why the task entrusted to historical science is quasi-scientific, its methods are quasi-scientific, and so are the conclusions. But all of this greatly endangers the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo.

У непосредној близини Љига, данас се налази 16 активних цркава
и две у изградњи, распоређених на ободима три епархије: Ваљевске,
Жичке и Шумадијске, чије се границе протежу до долине реке Љиг.
Иако данас на овом простору не постоји ниједна црква брвнара, народно предање памти читав низ ових светиња, грађених у несигурна времена и премештаних по потреби на сигурнија места. Поједине цркве из тог периода бележе историјски извори, док су друге оставиле само штуре назнаке свог постојања. У овом раду ћемо сабрати прикупљену грађу о црквама брвнарама у околини Љига и Белановице и покушати да реконструишемо црквену мрежу ове области у временима која су претходнила потпуној обнови српске државности.

Kosovska krize ukazala, že Zapad ukoncil svou politiku vyckavani a rozhodl se plně angažovat v balkanských problemech. Pakt stability vytvaři institucionalni ramec, v němž se bude postupně vytvařet ekonomický protektorat nad větsinou postkomunistických zemi jihovýchodni Evropy. Problem vsak spociva v tom, zda se požadavky demokratizace a zprůhledněni politiky setkaji u balkanských politických vůdců s pozitivni odezvou. Průběh utoků na Jugoslavii ukazal, že USA a Severoatlanticka aliance jako jedine maji funkcni mechanismy k uspěsnemu řeseni regionalnich konfliktů. Spojene staty a zapadni Evropa (i Rusko) se nyni budou na Balkaně dlouhodobě angažovat vojenskou přitomnosti. Hlavni přicinu nestability – nacionalisticke režimy (předevsim srbský) – se vsak zatim nedaři odstranit a ani Zapad nedisponuje ucinnými nastroji, jak dosahnout změny režimů v Jugoslavii, v Chorvatsku a v Bosně a Hercegovině, ktere by zarucily demokratizaci postjugoslavskeho prostoru. The paper discusses some recently proposed views on the religious landscape of medieval Prizren and the region it belonged to, the history of some Serbian churches in this city in  Metohija, and the claim that the staurotheke of King Milutin of Serbia and Bishop Grigorije II of Ras, now in the Dominican Monastery in Dubrovnik, was donated to a church dedicated to St. Peter in Prizren. It is shown that those views and opinions have no basis in the sources and are a result of unsound methodology and ignoring securely ascertained facts in a bid to reshape tendentiously the image of the past.

A budai Tabánban a 18. században és a 19. század első felében élte virágkorát a szerb közösség, amelynek a városrész a másik nevét (Rácváros) is köszönheti. A budai szerb ortodox székesegyház 1949–1950 telén történt lerombolásával nemcsak a Budai Szerb Ortodox Egyházmegye főtemploma, hanem a köré szerveződő, legalább háromszáz éves múltra visszatekintő szerb közösség is megszűnt. A lebontott budai szerb templom megmaradt tárgyanyagán túl azonban a tabáni szerbség emlékezetét őrzik – közvetve vagy közvetlenül – a budai Egyetemi Nyomda cirill betűs, szerb kiadványai is. Mivel a nyomda cirill tevékenysége 1796 és 1850 között volt a leginkább meghatározó a magyarországi, illetve az egyetemes szerbség története szempontjából, éppen ez az a korszak, amelyből a budai szerbekre vonatkozóan is értékes adatokat nyerhetünk termékeiből, illetve az azokra vonatkozó levéltári forrásokból. A dolgozat az Országos Széchényi Könyvtárban őrzött dokumentumok alapján azt vizsgálja, hogy a tabáni szerbek – beleértve a Budán huzamosabb ideig tartózkodó szerb értelmiségieket – miként vettek részt a budai Várban működő nyomda munkájában, milyen nyomtatványok megjelenését támogatták előfizetőként, vagy rendelték meg saját céljaikra. Ezekből nemcsak könyvkultúrájukra, műveltségi orientációjukra, hanem társadalmi szerepvállalásukra, gazdasági erejükre, identitás- és nemzettudatuk alakulására nézve is vonhatunk le bizonyos következtetéseket.

As we approach the 850th anniversary of the birth of St. Sava of Serbia (born 1175), it is a welcome occasion to once more reassess the process of the making of the Serbian church in 1219. Much has been researched concerning the establishment of the autocephalous Serbian church in the first half of the 13th century, both in Serbian historiography, and elsewhere. Among the hypotheses explaining why did the Byzantines so easily grant this great privilege to the Serbs and St. Sava of Serbia personally, are those which pointed out the difficult position of the Byzantine empire's states successors after the fall of Constantinople under the Latins in 1204-Nicaea and the State of Epirus, and their mutual political, ideological and ecclesiastical strife. According to such views, the Serbs simply exploited a perfect moment in a complex political situation in the Balkans and Asia Minor, when rival polities mutually contested for the supreme power and imperial legacy of fallen Byzantium and managed to obtain for themselves the privilege to form their own "national" church organization. Such understanding of historical events usually leads towards an oversimplified perception of history and of the events in history which are perceived as isolated incidents with no mutual correlation and connection. 1 Thus, the Serbs gained for themselves kingdom in 1216 when the elder brother of St. Sava, Stefan Nemanjić, was crowned king, and St. Sava consecrated archbishop of the autocephalous Serbian church in 1219 by the Constantinopolitan patriarch Manuel Sarantenos Charitopoulos and with the approval and imperial decision of the Emperor Theodore I Lascaris. 2

Апстракт: Циљ рада је анализа односа између југословенске државе и Српске православне цркве на територији Војводине и Бачке, у светлу става нових комунистичких власти према владици бачком Иринеју Ћирићу, и то у периоду од ослобођења (1944), па све до епископове смрти (1955). Иринеј је због својих веза са мађарским окупационим режимом, након уласка партизана у Нови Сад, доспео у кућни притвор у трајању од 17 месеци, да би након тога био нападнут и претучен од групе мештана у Оџацима (1946). Овај догађај, у оно време познат као "случај Оџаци", представљао је једно од спорних питања и дуго је оптерећивао односе између цркве и државе. Такође, предмет истраживања су и функционисање Епархије бачке у периоду 1944-1955, атмосфера међу свештенством у условима притиска нових власти и надзора тајне службе, ставови Иринеја и његових сарадника о појединим црквеним и политичким питањима, као и каснија промена приступа, међусобно прилагођавање и толерантнији однос државе према цркви. Panhumanism was an intellectual movement in interwar Serbian culture that encompassed the idea of Yugoslav messianism. After research based on the archive material of the New Atlantis, we show that the circle of panhumanists from what was essentially the Serbian branch of network of esotericist Dimitrije Mitirnović. Apart from the work on spreading the ideas of Mitrinović, this circle was devoted to occult practices, also under the leadership of a teacher from London.

Saint Justin Popović is well known as a key protagonist of the patristic revival in Serbian theology of the twentieth century. This paper explores the way that this revival took place in his theology by analysing his patristic works, basic features of his patristic hermeneutics and discussing possible influences which enabled him to participate in what was, at the time, the emerging theological trend. His two key patristic works on St Macarius of Egypt and St Isaak the Syrian are analysed as they provide valuable information on Fr Justin’s approach to the patristic texts. Focus is also laid on his dogmatic works which reveal his understanding of the role of the patristic legacy in Orthodox theology, as well as on his exegetical works in which patristic authors are often and substantially engaged with. Three basic features of Fr Justin’s patristic hermeneutics are discussed: (1) his synthetic approach, founded on his understanding of catholicity (sobornost); (2) his emphasis on spiritual experience; and (3) his focus on the obtaining of sainthood as the ultimate goal of the patristic investigations. Three key streams of Russian religious thought, it is claimed, had a crucial impact on Fr Justin’s theological reasoning in general, and on his understanding of the patristic revival, in particular. Besides the theological influences, as evidenced in Russian philokalic tradition and theological figures among which Metropolitan Khrapovitsky plays a major role, the substantial contribution of Russian religious philosophy is also emphasized. In conclusion, it is argued that although Fr Justin’s turn to the patristic tradition exhibits some of the qualities of the neo-patristic synthesis, it lacks the programmatic character as evidenced in the case of Georges Florovsky’s theology. I show that Fr Justin participates in the “patristic turn”, a phenomenon which may be perceived as analogous to the “linguistic turn” that happened in the 20th century philosophy, and not necessarily in neo-patristic theology as such.

Сажетак: У раду се расветљава статус традиционалне музике и црквеног појања у оквиру српске заједнице у Сарајеву током отоманског, односно аустроугарског периода. Како црквена, тако и световна музика ове заједнице сагледана је у ширим друштвеним контекстима поменутих историјских епоха у којима се приватни и друштвени живот православног живља одвијао између опстанка и прогреса. Сопственим музичким праксама чувао се верски и културни идентитет. Доминирала је вокална музика негована у оквиру богослужбене праксе, али и као народна певачка традиција на световним окупљањима интимног угођаја. Круну српског музичког живота сарајевских Срба у прошлости симболизује оснивање Православног српског црквеног пјевачког друштва "Слога" поткрај 19. века. Разноврсне секције и садржаји који су организовани у оквиру овог певачког друштва били су најбољи одговор на тадашње, не само музичке, већ и опште-културне потребе Срба, али и других житеља града на Миљацки.

Who Are the Rascians? Issues of Ethnicity in the 16th and 17th Centuries

In those parts of Hungary that had been occupied by the Ottomans, a significant population exchange took place in addition to changes in the settlement conditions. The study investigates the issue of “Rascian ethnicity” emerging at this time that also received great attention in Hungarian scholarship. Some researchers consider the Rascians to be the predecessors of the Serbs, while others, employing a broader perspective, use this name as an external (etic) collective term, combining Slavic-speaking ethnic groups coming from the Balkans. In my analysis, I do not refer to the Rascians as an “ethnic group”, but rather as a “quality” indicated by the name Rascian in Barth’s model of ethnicity. The study presents the circumstances under which the ethnonyms Serb and Rascian developed. Additionally, it briefly outlines the process as a result of which they became a nation, with special regard to the possibilities the peoples subjected to the Ottoman Turkish political pressure in Central and Eastern Europe had. Ethnicity in the Ottoman period can be studied through the interpretation of historical sources. It is not only important what the document says about certain groups of people, but also who writes it, under what circumstances, and what political or economic motivations they could have had. From these, we can learn what value judgments and general ideas were associated with the Rascians. Looking at the Rascians as a category, it is striking that both their outsider and compatriot characters are attested by the documents. The study also places great emphasis on the examination of their continuity (or presence), which can be demonstrated with intermittent wave-like immigrations and emigrations from the mid-16th century to the 1710s over large territories, and then concentrated in smaller and smaller areas. Summarising our findings on the role of the Rascians, we can say that from the 1580s onwards, the Rascian communities developed and redeveloped in Southern Transdanubia, from old and new fragments of society and elements of identity (a sense of compatriotism, foreignness, landscape experiences), but their binding material was formed by political, ecclesiastical, and power positions. This is well demonstrated by their considerable loss of territory and decreasing importance that took place after the expulsion of the Ottoman Turks and Rákóczi’s War of Independence. What we can perceive here is not an “ideal” ethnic formula but rather the daily adaptation strategies of a society searching for a place, and we can observe their characteristic and – sometimes – perhaps too intense manifestations.

Ko su Raci? Pitanje etničke pripadnosti u 16–17. veku

Na ugarskim teritorijama koje su okupirali Turci, pored promene uslova naseljavanja, došlo je do značajne razmene stanovništva. Studija se bavi pitanjem „rackog etniciteta” koji je tada nastao i kojem je posvećena posebna pažnja u mađarskoj stručnoj literaturi. Neki pisani izvori pripadnike ovom etnicitetu smatraju prethodnicima Srba, dok drugi, sagledavajući širi aspekat, racki etnicitet smatraju za zbirni pojam koji spaja neke balkanske etničke grupe koje govore slovenskim jezikom. U svojoj analizi pokušavam da protumačim pojam Raci ne kao „etničku grupu”, nego „svojstva” naziva Rac koji je prikazan u Bartovom modelu etničke pripadnosti.
Studija prikazuje okolnosti nastanka etnonima Srbin i Rac i ukratko ocrtava proces formiranja nacija, obraćajući posebnu pažnju na specifičnosti prostora kretanja naroda Srednjoistočne Evrope, koji su bili podvrgnuti političkom pritisku Turaka. Etnička pripadnost u doba turskog jarma može se ispitati kroz tumačenje istorijskih izvora, zato nije važno samo to, što izvori tvrde o određenoj grupi, vec’ i ko to tvrdi, u kakvoj situaciji i kojim zamislima vezanim za političke ili ekonomske motive. Iz njih možemo saznati kakvi vrednosni sudovi i opšte zamisli su povezivani sa Racima. Posmatrajući Race kao kategoriju, na osnovu dokumenata uočavamo da oni na sebi nose karakteristike domaćih žitelja a i stranaca. Studija takođe stavlja veliki akcenat na ispitivanje njihovog kontinuiteta (prisustva), što se može prikazati isprekidanim talasima migracija od sredine 16. veka do 1710-ih godina na širem prostoru, a zatim koncentrisano na sve manje oblasti.
Sumirajući saznanja o ulozi Raca, možemo izjaviti da su racke zajednice u južnom Podunavlju posle 1580. više puta iznova obnavljane, koristeći i stare i nove društvene fragmente i elemente identiteta: osećaj odomaćenosti, osećaj tuđinštine, iskustvo okruženja, ali njihovo vezivo predstavljaju politički, crkveni status i položaj moći. Dobro to pokazuje i ogroman gubitak prostora i gubitak na značaju koji se dogodio nakon isterivanja Turaka i Rakocijevog ustanka. Pred sobom ne vidimo „idealnu” etničku formulu, ali možemo posmatrati strategiju svakodnevnog prilagođavanja društva koje traži svoje mesto, njihove tipične i ponekad možda previše izoštrene manifestacije karaktera.

Η παρούσα εργασία είναι αφιερωμένη στο φημισμένο Σέρβο αγιογράφο, Δομεντιανό - μαθητή του πρώτου Αρχιεπισκόπου της Σερβίας, Αγίου Σάββα, ιερομόναχου και εξομολογητή της Ιεράς Σερβικής Μονής Χιλανδαρίου (Σερβικόν), ο οποίος έζησε τον 13ο αιώνα. Θεωρείται ο αυθεντικός συγγραφέας της βιογραφίας του Αγίου Συμεών του Μυροβλήτου και του υιού αυτού, Σάββα. Το συγγραφικό έργο του Δομεντιανού, έλαβε χώρα κατά τη διάρκεια της ακμής του σερβικού κράτους και χαρακτηρίζεται από υψηλό ποιητικό, ρητορικό και πανηγυρικό ύφος. Ο Δομεντιανός επικοινωνούσε με πολλούς μάρτυρες της πορείας της ζωής του διδασκάλου του, Αγίου Σάββα, και προφανώς κατέγραψε τις ιστορίες τους. Στα έργα του, προσφέρει πολλά παραδείγματα της ευσέβειας των Αγίων Συμεών και Σάββα και αυτά φαίνεται να είναι αξιόπιστα. Το έργο του Δομεντιανού, αποτελεί παράδειγμα της άνθησης της σερβικής φιλολογικής κίνησης, αλλά πάνω από όλα, αποτελεί την ιδεολογική βάση για τα πολιτικά, διπλωματικά, κοινωνικά και πνευματικά κατορθώματα της δυναστείας των Νεμάνια. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, οι Σέρβοι στα χρόνια του Δομεντιανού, αρχίζουν να αποκτούν ιστορική συνείδηση...

The paper discusses the wall paintings executed in 1875 by Avram Dičov(ić) and his associates at the monastery of the Patriarchate of Peć. They painted the door of the prothesis and covered large surfaces of darkened medieval frescoes in the Church of the Holy Apostles and Danilo’s narthex with ne w murals, almost completely re moved in 1931–1932. Their program has been reconstructed and investigated based on previously mostly unpublished old photos and researchers’ notes found in sev eral photo collections and archives. Two donor inscriptions on the frescoing with references to the commissioners, the Peć monks, and the metropolitan of the Raška Prizren Eparchy were also considered.

It was indeed a matter of pride to be a Serb in Paris on May 10, 2023, in the famous and elite Jockey Club de Paris, the most prestigious private club of the world capital of culture and art, which for almost a century has been gathering the very cream of France’s elite society, especially members the most prestigious French aristocratic families.

This text serves as an afterword for the book “Homeland Painted with Incense” written by Zoran Grozdanov. The author of this afterword considers the book to be an event rather than just a book. The contents of the book fill a multi-decade void in academically shaped theological discourse related to one of the key sociopolitical issues in the territory of the former Yugoslavia - the sacralization of ethnonationalism by certain religious circles.

The issue of Yugoslav literature(s), or, more precisely, the history of Yugoslav literature(s), is so extensive and complex that it would require a special study. Here I shall therefore only outline the main approaches to Yugoslav literary studies in Yugoslavia after the World War II, pointing out at the same time some of the implications that this issue may have for

Episkop Mitrofan (Šević) je na tron Eparhije bačke došao 1899. godine, kao nastojatelj manastira Krušedola. Vreme u kojem je obavljao svoju arhijerejsku službu bilo je prepuno iskušenja za srpski narod u Habzburškoj monarhiji. U burnim dešavanjima koja su obeležila početak XX veka uspeo je da podigne novi Vladičanski dvor, kao i da obnovi Saborni hram Svetog Georgija u Novom Sadu. Kao dobar pastir, episkop bački Mitrofan je uspeo da sačuva srpski narod i Crkvu od stradanja tokom Prvog svetskog rata. Ovaj prilog za biografiju episkopa bačkog Mitrofana ima za cilj da preko arhivske građe, koja se čuva u Pravoslavnoj crkvenoj opštini Bačke Palanke, kao i sačuvane periodike, predstavi njegovu arhijerejsku delatnost u vremenu pred izbijanje i tokom Prvog svetskog rata.

О Светом великомученику Јевстатију, 20. септембра (3. октобра), свештена светосавска Обитељ ковиљска показала се местом које, опет и опет, сведочи непобитну чињеницу да Црква јесте реалност која надилази време, те да је онаетаисторијскааједница која на сасвим конкретан и очигледан начин обједињује Цркву Војинствујућу са Црквом Торжествујућом, чинећи тако један јединствени и неразориви организам - Тело Христово.

Wrote for "Orthodoxy in Dialogue" about the importance and immediate implications of the Ecumenical Patriarchate's decision to bring the Macedonian Orthodox Church (Ohrid Archbishopric) into communion and why it matters after being in schism for 55 years.

Objectives. Civil Society is the most important instrument to obtain democratic transformation and get EU membership in post-Yugoslav countries. Activism in postwar West Balkan cities, especially in border cities like Petrinja, has communication difficulties with the local communities. The aim of this study was to determine the source of the difficulties by carrying out an analysis on the evolution of personal activist identity in Petrinja as an example. Material and methods. Between September 2016-April 2017, data were obtained from 40 urban and rural respondents aged 17-55 in Petrinja. Speech analysis method was used on depth-interviews. The interviews focused on topics related to activism topics: active citizenship, multiculturalism, local development, ecology, LGBT rights, Activists' and associations' daily practices. Results. These face-to-face in-depth interviews were conducted on the question of property, veteran status, and unemployed (socio-economic) problems. At the time the interviews were carried out, 25 years after the war, nearly 50% of the real estates in the city were abandoned (vacant estate); a feeling of powerlessness is shared by the youth, in general, voting rates nearly attain 15%. Young people find local development perspective less popular than immigration tendency. The "strange"/ "foreign" image of activists limits their social integration capacity in the local community. Conclusions. A new activist policy of EU is needed regarding the integration of veterans and local communities, which would facilitate positive change and development for the area.

Razvoj liturgijskoga života na pravoslavnom Istoku Srpska Crkva od 13. do 21. stoljeća Sažetak: Povijest srpskoga bogoslužja relativno je nova bogoslovna disciplina u liturgiji. U radu su skupljeni raniji i suvremeni rezultati iz toga područja. Uočit će se na koji način druge znanosti medievistike doprinose boljem razumijevanju bogoslovnih pojava u povijesti. Osam stoljeća dug liturgijski život Srpske pravoslavne Crkve obiluje crkvenom dinamikom. Prirodni i duhovni položaj Srba između pravoslavnih naroda Istoka i Zapada doprinio je stalnim međusobnim utjecajima bogoslužnih formi koje su opet dobivale svoj osobiti pečat u sredini srpske kulture. Uz značajne pojedince, nositelji bogoslužnih tokova bili su monasi, episkopi, profesori i dr. Mnoga ključna pitanja za pravilno sagledavanje liturgijskoga toka u ovoj studiji riješena su i objašnjena, kao na primjer: pojava hezihastičkog pokreta, razvoj crkvenoga tiska i prepisivačke djelatnosti i sl. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na razvoj liturgijskoga bogoslovlja u posljednjem stoljeću s osvrtom na aktualnu situaciju u znanosti.

Few days after the death of Joseph Broz Tito, communist leader of Yugoslavia, in May 1980, my father has been taken into custody, then questioned put on the trial and convicted for six years on the political accusations. His active service as an Orthodox priest terminated that May 1980. Being moved from one police station to another, from one city to another, he left behind two young children and a woman with no income. In such an awkward situation, the police offered him cooperation with the state and the party, i.e., to sign an already written confession. After the fall of communism, he became recognized as a martyr of the Church, like many similar cases. The problem with communism was that it paradoxically worked for the Church. By his brutality, communism produced saints and martyrs for the Church. In today's world of political correctness, however, there are no martyrs and saints, and moral differences are less apparent. The article explores the historical situation during communism in Yugoslavia. Simultaneously, this paper tries to explain the Church mentality during those years and whether they still affect us today.

Kosovska krize ukazala, že Zapad ukoncil svou politiku vyckavani a rozhodl se plně angažovat v balkanských problemech. Pakt stability vytvaři institucionalni ramec, v němž se bude postupně vytvařet ekonomický protektorat nad větsinou postkomunistických zemi jihovýchodni Evropy. Problem vsak spociva v tom, zda se požadavky demokratizace a zprůhledněni politiky setkaji u balkanských politických vůdců s pozitivni odezvou. Průběh utoků na Jugoslavii ukazal, že USA a Severoatlanticka aliance jako jedine maji funkcni mechanismy k uspěsnemu řeseni regionalnich konfliktů. Spojene staty a zapadni Evropa (i Rusko) se nyni budou na Balkaně dlouhodobě angažovat vojenskou přitomnosti. Hlavni přicinu nestability – nacionalisticke režimy (předevsim srbský) – se vsak zatim nedaři odstranit a ani Zapad nedisponuje ucinnými nastroji, jak dosahnout změny režimů v Jugoslavii, v Chorvatsku a v Bosně a Hercegovině, ktere by zarucily demokratizaci postjugoslavskeho prostoru. The paper aims to sketch the basic role that the Theological Seminary if St. Cyril and Methodius had in the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija from June 10, 1999 to March 17, 2004, as an institution of the Serbian Orthodox Church with its facilities and the individuals who served it. Namely, in terms of scientific research, domestic professional and laic literature do not pay enough attention to the victims of the Serbian and other non-Albanian peoples who survived the violence in Kosovo and Metohija during the first five years of the United Nations mission. Foreign scientific and other publications, especially those produced in international relations and peace studies, place emphasis on researching the practices of the Albanian people, while non-Albanian communities remain on the margins of research projects during the first years of UNMIK administration. Based on the available memoirs, some periodically printed publications and published documents, we will try to show some of the roles of the Theological Seminary of St. Cyril and Methodius in connection with the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija during the mentioned period. We hope that the work will encourage colleagues and researchers form the social sciences and humanities to direct their research towards somewhat neglected, but significant, topic of the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

A parchment (15 x 17 cm, with a large triangular defect 4x7x7cm in the upper part) with text from the Gospel of Matthew, 10.41 – 11.5a, Old Church Slavonic, Serbian redaction, 14 century (after Sabine Fahl, Greifswald University, Germany). The parchment is now in the Museum of Vranje, Serbia.

The paper deals with the phenomenon of popular piety in the eighteenth century and its reflections in art media through several prints made by the Serbian engraver Zaharija Orfelin. Paper icons, the cheapest means of meeting the spiritual needs of Orthodox Serbs in Hungary in the eighteenth century, were mass produced and easy to transport to remotest places. As they were the main channels of expressing piety, it is not unexpected that some artists-entrepreneurs such as Orfelin started such a lucrative production. Orfelin shaped the iconography of those images, combining the traditional Orthodox heritage and contemporary Baroque models that had migrated from Central European religious art. His imagery included particular national saints and their patriotic cults, dogmatic and doctrinal views of the church, as well as images of the Mother of God.

In my study, on one hand, I introduce the anticlerical propaganda of the social democrats of Szentendre, and on the other, the separating and secularizing provisioning activities against the institutions maintained by the Serbian Orthodox Episcopacy of Buda in Szentendre during the period of the Soviet Republic based on the available sources.

Хералдика Српске Православне Цркве задире у прилично дубоку старину, иако се то по садашњем њеном стању и приликама не би могло рећи. Редови пред нама представљаљу скромно настојање да се учини један скромни прилог актуелизацији овог питања, као и малени допринос систематизацији и уређењу српских црквених хералдичких, вексилолошких и фалеристичких прилика.

Reservations and aversion to the Ecumenical Movement, i.e. the institution of the World Council of Churches and the institutional inter-Christian dialogue, have been observed in the Serbian church environment for decades. This is understandable given the historical experience of the Serbian Orthodox Church with the Vatican’s proselytizing campaign, as well as the negative attitude of the international community towards Serbia and the Serbian Church during the war in Bosnia. This isolation, in addition to the anti-ecumenical tendency, favoured the strengthening of the ideology of nationalism among Serbs. The focus of this paper will be on the attitude toward ecumenism and nationalism of one of the most eminent theologians of the Serbian Orthodox Church of the twentieth century: Radovan Bigović.

Από εκκλησιολογικής απόψεως ένα επιτίμιο ακοινωνησίας η αφαίρεση του ονόματος από τα επίσημα δίπτυχα δεν μπορεί να συνιστά σχίσμα στον ορθόδοξο χώρο, όπως από την παράδοση και την εκκλησιαστική ιστορία γνωρίζουμε . Στον αντίποδα αυτού του υπερτονισμού το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο και ιδίως ο Οικουμενικός πατριάρχης συνεχίζει μέχρι και σήμερα να μνημονεύει τον Πατριάρχη Ρωσίας, υπενθυμίζοντας με αυτόν τον τρόπο ότι το αίτιο της διακοπής της ευχαριστιακής κοινωνίας δεν είναι το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο αλλά η ίδια η Μόσχα και άρα δεν μπορούμε να μιλάμε για ένα σχίσμα στον ορθόδοξο χώρο

Након смрти свог пријатеља, владике банатског Георгија Летића, епископ бачки Иринеј Ћирић (1884-1955) преузео је дужност администратора епархије банатске. У том својству, поштујући жељу покојног владике Летића, он је у два наврата боравио у Петровграду (данашњи Зрењанин), где је у јесен 1935. освештао најпре камен-темељац, а неколико година касније, на Митровдан 1939. године - и цркву новоподигнутог женског манастира посвећеног Светој Меланији у градском насељу Шумица (задужбине владике Летића). Поводом друге посете и свечаног освећења (троносања)храма новог манастира, епископу бачком Иринеју у Петровграду је приређен свечан дочек у чијој су припреми активног учешћа узеле градске власти, Српска православна црквена општина,  али и школе и др. установе и звања. Током дводневног боравка, уочи и након освећења манастирске цркве, епископ бачки Иринеј је служио свечано бденије и свету литургију у Светоуспенском храму, а у звању председника општине одржао је пријем градских већника и угледних грађана. Његово присуство и улога у оснивању поменутог манастира Епархије банатске остали су забележени у неколико архивских докумената и новински натписа чији је садржај представљен у овом прилогу.

SERBIAN-RUSSIAN CHURCH RELATIONSHIPS IN WORKS OF PROTOPRESBYTER-STAVROPHOR STEVAN M. DIMITRIJEVICH

Summary: Protopresbyter- Stavrophor Stevan M. Dimitrijevich was the first Serbian scholar who systematically examined Serbian-Russian Church connections throughout the History.  He began research in this field during his studies on The Spiritual Academy in Kiev in the last decade of the nineteenth century.  He examined in details materials related to the Serbian Church History in the Archives of The Russian Royal Office of External Affairs in Moscow and The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in Saint Petersburg.  Dimitrijevich wrote one of the best Serbian candidate dissertations on Russian spiritual academies in 1898.  It was related to diplomatic missions of the representatives from the Serbian Orthodox Church to Russia from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century.  Stevan Dimitrijevich continued his work in the same field upon his return to the homeland. He published an article about Serbian- Russian Church relationships in the seventeenth century in the scientific journal of the Serbian Royal Academy in 1900 and 1901. That article caught the attention of the key representatives of the Serbian Church historiography of that time.  Among them were Archimandrite Ilarion (Ruvarac), Archimandrite Nicephor (Ducich), and Milutin Jaksich.  Dimitrijevich published the Russian archive materials about the Serbian Orthodox Church in publications of the Serbian Royal Academy during the years and decades to follow. These archive materials are still an unavoidable source for any serious research in the field of Serbian-Russian Church relations. Stevan M. Dimitrijevich concluded his work with the synthetic study about Serbian- Russian Church relations from the twelfth until the twentieth century. It was published in The Calendar of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the Year of 1948.  Stevan M. Dimitrijevich‘s legacy placed him among the best experts on Serbian- Russian Church relations, as well as spiritual and cultural connections. Key words: Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Stevan M. У раду су на основу закључака српске и мађарске историографије приказани процеси и догађаји везани за Српски национални сабор у Темишвару и за Угарску дијету у Будиму. Нагласак је стављен на српске националне захтеве, као и на виђење истих од стране меродавних предводника Угарских Сталежа и Редова од 1790. до 1792. године. Детаљно је представљена беседа одржана на Српском сабору 1790. Саве племенитог од Кевермеша и Визеша Текелије у којој је покушао помирити српске националне захтеве с угарским државним правом.

The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was internationally recognized during the Paris Peace Conference in 1919-20. Even though there was neither a provisional nor a permanent constitution of the newly-formed state, factually there was a state as well as a system of governance, represented by supreme bodies, the King and the Parliament. Many draft constitutions were prepared by different political parties and notable individuals. We shall focus on the official Draft Constitution prepared during the premiership of Stojan Protić. He appointed the Drafting Committee as a governmental (multi-ethnic) advisory team of prominent legal experts from different parts of the new state consisting of Professors Slobodan Jovanović (President), Kosta Kumanudi and Lazar Marković (Serbia), Professor Ladislav Polić (Croatia) and Dr Bogumil Vošnjak (Slovenia). After two months of work, the Committee submitted its draft to the Prime Minister. The leading Serbian legal scholar and president of the committee, Slobodan Jovanović (1869-1958), was well-acquainted with the details of Austro-Hungarian and German legal traditions. Since he was an active participant and witness of the events that led to the creation of the new state, while also being an objective and critical historian, it is important to shed light on his firsthand account of the emergence of the state of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
