Description
The PlanToConnect project partners, the AlpPlan Network and the Alpine Convention most cordially invite you to save the date and register for the PlanToConnect project final event.

The three-day event brings:
  • An AlpPlan/PlanToConnect Expert Platform workshop and the AlpPlan Network annual general assembly on 06. 10. 2025 in the afternoon
  • The PlanToConnect project final conference on 07. 10. 2025
  • A workshop co-organised by the Alpine Biodiversity Board and the Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development working group of the Alpine Convention on 07. 10. 2025 in the afternoon
  • An excursion to the “Castelfeder” biotope with a view on a potential ecological corridor in the Lower Adige Valley and a site visit to an agrivoltaics testing station on 08. 10. 2025 in the morning.

The AlpPlan/PlanToConnect Expert Platform workshop offers an international keynote presentation on ecological connectivity by PD Dr. Annika Keeley and opportunity to debate. The AlpPlan Network general assembly meets once a year to review and discuss the past and future activities of the AlpPlan Network and its members.

At the PlanToConnect project final conference the partners will provide insights into the project background and outcomes. The main project results and tools, such as the ecological connectivity network proposal for the Alpine region, the Alpine planning strategy for ecological connectivity, and the capacity building and training package will be demonstrated and their future discussed with participants. The main characteristics, results and lessons learned of the ten case studies, which yielded technical proposals for implementing connectivity networks in spatial plans of the pilot sites, will be highlighted as well.

The workshop co-organised by the Alpine Biodiversity Board and the Spatial Planning and Sustainable Development working group of the Alpine Convention titled “What makes implementing Ecological Connectivity a challenge in Spatial Planning?” will bring together experts and practitioners to explore challenges and share success stories in integrating ecological connectivity into spatial planning. The goal is to inspire practical actions for preserving and restoring ecological networks across the Alpine region.

The excursion will explore the dry grasslands of the “Castelfeder” biotope with a view on a potential structural ecological corridor in the Lower Adige Valley. During a site visit to a test field for agrivoltaics we will explore how photovoltaic systems can be integrated into the landscape.

A preliminary programme for all parts of the three-day event is available here. It is possible to register for any combination of sessions, as well as for participating online.
