In the 2nd, with one out and none on, Rangers batter Engel Beltre bunted the first pitch from Brewers pitcher Marco Estrada to third baseman Aramis Ramirez, who threw to first baseman Mark Reynolds as Beltre arrived at first base. Upon instant replay review as the result of a challenge by Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke, 1B Umpire Danley's ruling that Reynolds did not catch the ball and tag first base prior to Beltre's touch arrival due to a pulled foot was affirmed, the call was correct. At the time of the review, the contest was tied, 0-0.

In the 6th, with one out and three on, Brewers batter Reynolds hit a 1-0 pitch from Rangers pitcher Michael Kirkman to deep center field and toward the top of the wall. Upon instant replay review as the result of an inquiry by Rangers Manager Ron Washington and initiation by crew chief Danley, 1B Umpire Fagan's ruling that the fly ball hit the top of the outfield wall, bounced off the taller batter's eye "back wall," and therefore out of play by virtue of leaving the playing field, and returned to play was affirmed, the call was correct.
