new Astyle formatter plugin [message #177462] Tue, 26 September 2006 22:18 Go to next message

For those of you who can't get SimpleIndent to work or just hate it,
here's the quality CDT code formatter plugin you've been longing for.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/astyleclipse

It works quite well on both Win and Mac. Definitely check this out.

Press ctrl-shift-f in a CDT source code editor. CDT doesn't come with a
code formatter, you need a plug in to format code, this is it.

Yeah currently there's no support for those options yet. The author has
that planned in the 1.0.0 release I think. But still, it works much
better then CLI indent and SimpleIndent because this actually works and
produce the correct results.

Although it is not usable unless those are the styles you want. As
apposed to the Java style which we use.

Version 1.0.3 has been released. It has partial support for setting
command line options in a text field. Check boxes and text fields per
option will be supported in the future according to the author in a
private conversation, and a formatter preview pane is also planned like
the one in JDT and may be implemented instead. You can submit your
feature requests at the Sourceforge page. The author responds quite
quickly and is very enthusiastic!
