Debate with Commissioner Hansen

Commissioner Christopher Hansen will attend the Agricultural Committee to present the strategy for generational renewal, which was published on 21 October. Currently, only 12% of farmers are under 40 years old, and they continue to face numerous barriers, including limited access to credit, finance and land, as well as a lack of opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge. This strategy sets out ambitious goals to make the European agricultural sector more appealing to young farmers. The EP shares the Commission's interest in strongly supporting the next generation of farmers and finding adapted solutions. For this reason, a dedicated hearing will be organised on 2 December.
