As part of the European Gender Equality Week (EGEW), the Committee on Culture and Education will have an exchange of views on 5 November. The discussion will focus on policy measures in education, training and lifelong learning that foster a successful transition from education to employment by addressing the gendered aspects of the skills gaps in the EU.

On 5 November, the CULT Committee will hold a hearing that will look at whether a European Degree can improve cooperation between European universities and remove some of the obstacles faced by the European Universities Alliances that have formed thanks to a flagship initiative of the European Education Area.

During the upcoming CULT Committee meeting on 5 November, the winners of the 2025 European Charlemagne Youth Prize will be presented. The prize jointly organised by the European Parliament and the international Charlemagne Prize foundation in Aachen, celebrates youth-led projects that promote European cooperation, mutual understanding, and the development of a shared European identity.

On 20 October 2025, the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) held an exchange of views with Commissioner Micallef on the new AgoraEU programme for the period 2028–2034. AgoraEU aims to promote cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, enhance the competitiveness of the cultural and creative sectors, and safeguard artistic and media freedom.

On 20 October 2025, the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) held a structured dialogue with Commissioner Virkkunen on the audiovisual and media policy aspects within her portfolio. The discussion focused in particular on the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD), the preparation process for its mid-term revision, and the implementation of the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA).

The CULT Committee held the first presentation by the Commission of the interim report on the implementation of the current Erasmus+ programme 2021-2027 and the proposal for Erasmus+ programme for the period 2028-2034 as part of its Committee meeting on 24 September 2025. The interim report and the proposal were published in July.
