On 4 November 2025, in the afternoon, the HOUS Special Committee will hold a public hearing entitled “Housing Challenges for Young Europeans: Student Accommodation, Youth Emancipation and Talent Retention in the EU”.

The workshop on dynamics in the housing crisis, looking specifically at vulnerable groups, short-term rentals, and construction and renovation, will take place on Monday 3 November during the HOUS Committee meeting.

On 20 October 2025 during its Extraordinary Committee meeting in Strasbourg, HOUS Members held an exchange of views with Roxana Mînzatu, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness.

The Special Committee on the Housing Crisis in the EU (HOUS) is to examine the draft report on the housing crisis in the European Union (2025/2070 INI), authored by Rapporteur Borja Giménez Larraz.

During its Extraordinary Committee meeting on 9 October 2025, in Strasbourg, HOUS Special Committee Members held an exchange of views with Stéphane Séjourné, Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy, on matters related to the mandate and activities of the HOUS Special Committee, including short-term rentals.
