Motion of censure on the Commission NL

Tackling China's critical raw materials export restrictions

Written explanations of vote

The resolution strongly urges the People's Republic of China (PRC) to immediately cease the
persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, as well as other persecuted minorities like Uyghurs and
Tibetans. It calls for the release of Mr. Ding and all Falun Gong practitioners in China and demands an
end to domestic and transnational suppression of religious freedom. The resolution advises EU
Member States to suspend extradition treaties with the PRC and emphasizes that human rights,
democracy, and the rule of law should be central to EU-China relations. It advocates for supporting
an international investigation into the persecution of Falun Gong, raising concerns in political
dialogues, and monitoring related trials. Additionally, it calls on the EU to condemn organ transplant
abuses in China, employing human rights sanctions against perpetrators. Therefore, I voted for this resolution.
