On Tuesday 1 September 2026 during the PECH committee meeting the Policy Department for Regional Development, Agriculture and Fisheries will present a new study entitled "Allocation of fishing opportunities in the EU".
On 2 September 2026, the Committees on International Trade (INTA), Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), and Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) will hold a joint public hearing to support their legislative work on the Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA). The hearing will bring together leading experts and industry stakeholders to discuss two key aspects of the proposal.
On 2 September 2026, ENVI and AGRI Members will hold a joint public hearing on ‘Simplifying EU rules on food and feed safety’. The hearing will focus on the Food and Feed Omnibus and its implications.
The Commission proposals to simplify the food and feed safety legislation entails many changes to various areas of the existing rules, all of which have significant implications for European farmers. Stakeholders from various sectors will discuss the wide-ranging scope of these proposals at a Public Hearing jointly organised by the AGRI and ENVI Committees.
On 7 September 2026, the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT), the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC) will hold a joint Public Hearing on "Countering VAT and customs fraud for the protection of the Union’s financial interests – the Anti-Fraud Architecture revision".
On Monday 7 September 2026, the FISC Subcommittee will host a public hearing on “Taxation trends in EU Member States: how tax policy or tax compliance can be improved?”
Members of the European Parliament Internal Market Committee will travel to Seoul, South Korea to learn how the country regulates new digital technologies and enforces rules for online trade. The visit follows the recent conclusion of the EU–South Korea Digital Partnership. During the mission, Members will meet government officials, businesses and research organisations to exchange views and identify areas for closer cooperation.
